Episode Eight introduces the Land of Giran, located to the north of Kent Castle. This land is approximately the same size as Gludio Estate. The Giran update has tentatively been scheduled for US release on July 9th and will be confirmed as we move closer to the release. Additional details on methods of obtaining the update will be provided as soon as possible.
Some points of interest in Giran include:
The Marketplace. Located in Giran Village, the marketplace allows players to create many items previously available only on monsters, such as t-shirts, cloaks of magic resistance, cloaks of protection, iron visors, iron platemail, iron shields, iron gloves, iron boots, etc.
The Dog Race Track. The dog race track is located in the southeast corner of Giran Village and is an extended version of the famous slime races.
The Colosseum. An extended version of Tournament, requiring a ticket to attend. PLEASE NOTE: If attending the colosseum, any tamed monsters (including dogs) will not follow you inside, and these monsters will be regarded as ownerless.
Giran Castle. This newest castle has two outer gates, three inner gates, and one castle house door.
Giran Dungeon. This four-level dungeon is home to orc zombies, dark elves, owlbears, slimes, and more.
The Safe House system provides a home location for bloodpledges not currently occupying castles. Prince or Princesses of level 15 or higher may purchase a safe house by participating in an auction via the bulletin board located in the Giran Village Square. There are 45 total safe houses available. Please note: a Prince or Princess who currently owns a safe house may not participate in a siege unless they first sell the house.
Safe houses are run by NPCs who manage each safe house. Members of the bloodpledge controlling the house may stay in rooms in the house to fill HP and MP. Bloodpledge members may also use "scrolls of teleportation home" to return to the safe house. They will also restart (after a death) in their safe house. Safehouse owners must pay taxes to the Lord of Giran Castle.
The number of dogs or tamed monsters that may accompany any player will be based on the following equation: (Number of dogs * 3) + number of tamed monsters <= Charisma/2.
Thus, a character with 12 Charisma may travel with two dogs (2*3+0=6, which is = 12/2), or one dog and three monsters (1*3+3=6, which is = 12/2). A character with 18 Charisma may travel with three dogs.
The following changes have been made to dog collars:
Dog collars disappear when dogs die and are not resurrected.
Double-clicking on your dog collar after a server reset will allow you to immediately retrieve dogs.
Dogs (dog collars) may only be transferred between players when the dogs are in a storage facility.
Weight of Adena has been changed to 0.
The Nerupa dungeon map has been slightly modified.
Players who die in the Elves Forest dungeon will now restart at the Waste Village.
Lyra will always offer contracts.
Rangers have been added to the game world. Rangers travel freely around the world, and are similar to town guards.
A bug has been fixed that kept players from finding their dogs even when dog collars were adjusted.
Ungoliants and shelobs will no longer appear in the forest between Silver-Knight Village and Gludio.
A dueling zone is now available at the entrance of the dungeon where Nerupa is located.
A bug that changed wands of blink to oak wands has been fixed.
A bug that caused dogs not to return items when stored has been fixed.
A bug that caused spartoi to die without giving experience or items has been fixed.
Castle taxes have been adjusted for game balance.
Pledge leaders may no longer have multiple pledges.
The auto-repair of castle gates has been fixed.
Several bugs affecting Dupelgenon have been fixed.
We will be bringing the Lineage US servers down for a brief update on Thursday, July 19th at 10:00 AM CDT. Total downtime for this update is expected to be approximately 30 minutes. As this update will require a server restart, we urge that you store any dogs before logging out of the game. The update contains the following fixes:
Any player attacking a dog, regardless of the dog location, will ‘go pink’ (take a negative reputation count.)
Area effect spells will affect dogs if the dogs are chaotic. (Depardieu server only
When selling to vendors, players will now receive a message if they have no inventory items that may be sold.
Additionally, the Doberman spawn issue on Depardieu will be resolved at this time. Doberman spawn on the Ken Rahuel server is currently operating as normal.
We have noticed many customers experiencing disconnects from both game servers due to issues with the latest game update. As a result, we have determined it necessary to remove the update from the game servers to allow us to further investigate the code changes. We will be bringing the Lineage servers down at 5:00 PM CDT on Friday, July 19th to remove the update from the servers.
Please note that this does mean that the changes pertaining to dogs (area effect spells and attacking dogs) will be removed and you should adjust your playstyle accordingly.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are working to resolve the issues and restore the update to the servers as quickly as possible.
