The Adventure Begins

Okay, so 5AM Wednesday morning GMT+1. I've had 1 hours sleep and i'm more worked up than a cat-in-a-bag; crawl into the Taxi and I'm on my way to London, Gatwick.

Several hours later...

Airport Lounges suck almost as much as planes do...

Anyway... I board the plane and I'm off to Houston, Texas!

Why are Air Stewardesses so small? We had the smallest Air Stewardess in the world ever!

Some 10 1/2 hours later...

Did I mention Airport Lounges suck?

5 hour layover in Houston whilst I wait to board my flight to Austin.

... Had I known the flight lasted all of 28 minutes I may have considered alternative methods of transport!

... 28 minutes later, I'm outside the airport, off with the nicotine patch, smoking as many cigarettes as is humanly possible. 24 hours is a long time.

In front of me, my saviour. She who will take me somewhere to find REAL food.

11:35PM Local Time: Austin (5:35 AM British Time)

What's next? SLEEP. OMG SLEEP.

The Venue

It really has been quite a day.

I woke up at noon and went to brunch at Rudy's BBQ joint.

After lunch it was back to NCA to get ready for Saturdays PlayNC meet-up!

We took a trip down to Dave & Busters to make a start on the event room. It seems like a really nice venue - i'm sure we'll have a lot of fun on Saturday night.

Lineage, Past & Present

Thursday night, Cainna arrived... So naturally we organised a little outing for her.

Me, Fracas and Crickette managed to get hold of Former Lineage 1 community staff members, Kyzah, Mistryl and Nomad. It was time to get ready for a good night out!

We met up at the North by Northwest Micro-Brewery and it was time to party!

After our booze we went on down to Kerbey's Diner (Kirby Sucks!), ate a lot of food and kept goin' til the wee hours of the morning.

On A Night Like This...

This is where you end up late at night after a night like this; With your hand stamped, watching a bunch of women dressed up as guys and guys dressed up as women, performing very strange songs on a stage. Austin has some interesting bars...

How did we get here? Well, it all started with lunch at the Domain and some drinks...

Prizes, Prizes & More Prizes!

&Towards the end of the day, NCsoft held a raffle; giving away two NCsoft-branded iPods and LOADS of other goodies.

It seems that during the event, reversed-in-game-luck applied. Those of us who have zero in-game luck came away with great stuff - Chryses won himself a Wireless keyboard & mouse, Cainna scooped a Tabula Rassa T-Shirt and guess who won an iPod...

That's right! Me! Although I kinda won by default. They called out a number and no-one claimed, so they pulled another ticket out and it was mine! weeee!

After the raffle, CuppaJo (NCsoft Community Team) started throwing goodies out into the crowd.

She was then joined by a City of Heros "super fan", also star of the TV Show "Who wants to be a super hero"... The PlayNC merchandise was quite literally falling out of the sky!

Jimador managed to grab himself a PlayNC game-time card in the madness that ensued!

NCSoft Meetup

So I just wanted to post some images of the event. Don't really have much and these are from my camera phone... but oh well.

We cleaned house at the raffle. I think you can see Chryses greedily clutching his loot in the back of this picture. I won the other wireless mouse/keyboard combo (and clutched it equally as greedily)

The goody bag they gave us had a cape in it? I guess it was for City of Villains or something. Anyway, my dog wanted to wear it

Looting The Office

Before the event, we ordered a bunch of goodies to both wear, and distribute to those L1 folks attending. Unfortunately, due to a problem with the printers they didn't arrive until this morning - so it was necessary to go back to the offices and swipe 'em.
