16 January 2005 - Ivory Tower Village
Yesterday marked the retirement of MiguelAngel, knight-errant (level 47), and Amandil, elven archer and scout (level 47). Based on a tip from Prince Tueur, of Blood Pledge OSX, MiguelAngel contacted Rooella, of Blood Pledge Panther, and made arrangements to turnover all of his gear to her.
The transfer was made in the Ivory Tower Village by the storage dwarf. MiguelAngel and Amandil had ordinary items (+7 yumi bow, +6 hunter's bow, +6 blessed katana, +6 mail breaker, red knight's hood, +6 elven chain mail, +6 elven shield, +6 elven cloak, +6 elven t-shirt, +5 t-shirt, +4 cloak of protection, +4 bracers, +4 iron gloves, +4 iron boots, +4 leather boots, an old belt of soul, and an old belt of mind). The recent Christmas event yielded unenchanted power gloves, too (an item sorely wanted for these many, many past months - no ogre ever surrendered his ogre's blood despite many ogre hunting expeditions! ;-p ) Rooella commented that "some pledgemates" might be recipients of this gear...may they use the weapons and armor to their best advantage!
Along with the weapons and armor, were some potions. I turned over over two hundred mana potions and about four hundred fifty brave potions to Rooella. There will be much rejoicing amongst some knights in Aden!
Although MiguelAngel's and Amandil's accomplishments were of little consequence, one item which appears to have created good will for a time was his successful effort to bring Prince Tueur back into Lineage for a last run at glory. With the help of other blood pledges and the OSX-family of pledges, Kent Castle was briefly the domain of "those Apple guys."
With the passing of Amandil the elf, and MiguelAngel the knight, and he, very soon, look to Lineage II, The Age of Splendor, to find the same characters reprised. MiguelAngel has taken a shorter name (Miguel the human fighter) nowadays. Amandil is an elven scout. Seek them out on the Bartz server.
Hearty congratulations are in order for Rooella on bringing this fine website to us all!
Finally, with apologies to General of the Army Douglas MacArthur, United States Army, I now take my leave of Aden...
The world has turned over many times since I first took the field upon Talking Island, and the hopes and dreams have long since vanished, but I still remember the refrain of one of the most popular barracks ballads of that day which proclaimed most proudly that 'old knights never die; they just fade away.'"
And like the old knight of that ballad, I now close my Lineage One career and just fade away, an old knight who tried to do his duty as Einhasad gave him the light to see that duty. Good-bye. :)
Sincerely,
Testudo

It ain't til it's 'time to go
It ain't til it's 'time to go' until we realise just how much junk we shove in those poor little dwarves.
Thanks for all the good times and I'm sure i'll find good use for all the stuffs... I think we're really starting to spoil our knights with all these braves tho!
See ya down the road hun!
Roo.
