Too much exp loss?

Rooella's picture

Time again to ask Mistrly another one of those questions we've always wanted to ask, and never bothered read the Lineage FAQ to find out :)

Mistryl,

Why is it that we appear to lose more experience when de-leveling on death?

The total amount of experienc

The total amount of experience that you will lose is based on your current level upon death.

Let's say to get to Level X it takes 100 points, and then you hit Level Y. To get from Level Y to Level Z it takes 200 points.

As an example, if you die while you are Level Y, this causes you to lose 6% of the experience required for that level (in this case, 200). At Level Y and 30% experience, you would lose 12 experience points. Your new experience level after the death would be Level Y and 24% experience.

However, if you were at Level Y and 3% experience when you died, you would still lose 12 experience points. This would look like 3% experience in Level Y and 6% experience in Level X. This would mean that after your death, you would end up at Level X and 94% experience -- which would make it seem that you lost 9% experience rather than 6% experience.

So what you're saying is that

So what you're saying is that you lose the % from your current level?

If you lost 6% at level Y.03%

Where Y = 200 exp points and X = 100 - you would lose 3% + 3*((X((Y-X)*(Y/X)))% omg that's confusing... basically it's 6% = a total of 9%
