All newly-created characters start the game with 2 candles, a map (singing island, hidden valley), and a Talking scroll.
- Starter items have changed. The quest NPCs who accepted these starter items no longer spawn. (Hidden Valley/Singing Island - Peria, Elven Forest - Robin Hood)
- One can obtain basic items to start the game with by completing the quest of the Ivory Tower Library's Representative Mage through the Talking Scroll.
- From here on, the monsters in the beginners' zones will no longer drop apprentice set items.
- The Voucher of the Island, and Voucher of the Valley quests have been changed to allow all classes. The classes that may use each of the items match the classes that start in that area.
- The monsters in the beginners' zones drop Ivory Tower items. Ivory Tower items and beginners' items cannot be moved/stored.\
- The beginners' zone graduation items have changed. (Royal/Knight/Elf/Dark Elf - Oilskin Cloak, Mage - Cloak of Passage)
