B2S vs ShadowFang...

Supposedly Iron Golems drop shadowfang but you can't prove it by me. I've yet to get one. I'm not even sure of the PC of it on Ken, but I suspect it's a drop worth getting.

Meanwhile this thing drops a lot:

And I learned that all LA's apparently are pot gluttons, not just the ones up on 8.

What was odd is that no one else was around, so I guess someone's dog died earlier? Not really sure....

Now, I really liked this:

That mage with the gargoyles was wacking the ifrit when I showed up. He was already on it for a bit from what I can tell, and was cornered by some golems (and burning pots) while the gargoyles swatted it. So I waded in and started in on it. Then that DK showed up to hit it as well.

I walked off with CMOMR, a dai, a HQS and a TQD or four lines from a mop that really dones't drop too well. I think I had some cash as well.

What is interesting is that mages seem to think that gargoyles, having more HP are the summons to use. I think gargoyles are a good choice when all you care about is something being CON, which clearly gargoyles are. But when you want a summon that can actually HIT a mop, that is a summon that has high dex/strength or both, skells are the way to go. Now, you can't use them on an ifrit if you don't also help kill it. If you have two skells and you hit an ifrit once with a COC and then watch your skells work at it, they will end and if you're int/wis odds are you will as well. Skells don't have much HP, and I find that the best way to deal with harder mops is to distract the mop by pounding on it while my skells also beat on it.

I suspect that the skells have very high strength or dex or both. It IS at the expense of con. They don't regen very fast, and if they take a big hit they're going to die. Gargoyles regen quickly and they have so much hp it takes a lot to kill them off. But they don't seem to land many hits on a harder mop.

summons

its not so much of gargoyles vs. skell fighters because each has their own use. its more of mages using their summons as a handicap. i would understand a cha mage just standing back and healing summons because that's the purpose of a cha mage. for everyone else there comes a time when we have to join in the fun.

About the LAs

I think its solo people up there who get heavy maybe? Or a dead doggie. In either respect, I will start targeting more LAs. :D
