NCsoft's Nomad writes:
We've been chasing down the lag problems, and I have two statements from our Tech Support Manager to share with you:
"Our Networking team has been working with Savvis and Alternet in the hopes to resolve this issue. We received an e-mail back from these providers today stating that the latency seen on their routes is within their Service Level Agreement (SLA) limits. As such, they are unwilling to continue investigating this issue. Since this issue is occurring outside of NCsoft’s peering agreements with them, there is unfortunately little more that we can do. If you have any further questions about this issue, I suggest contacting your ISP and either one of these providers. I regret that this was the outcome and I hope that you’ll understand we have done everything within our power to resolve this issue"
“There is no guarantee that this will resolve the lag issue, but I may be able to get the ticket re-opened that we have with the providers. In order to do so, I need several Network Information Tool results from customers within the United States that are experiencing the same packetloss at these provider’s routers. This information must be submitted via Ask a Question. At this time, most of the traces we have received are outside of the US. Because of this, the providers are comparing the signal status to the distance traveled. If I can show them that this is happening ‘locally’, I might be able to turn the tide. Otherwise there is nothing further I can do.”
