What Lineage 3 graphics engine camera style would you want?

bahh!!! graphics dont make a game good..!! its the game play!! so TAKE BOTS OUTTTTTTTTTTT!!! and i will b happier !!

I don't want to stand in the way of progress but I just wanted to say that I also enjoy the way the graphics are now. They remind me of Ultima Online, hehe.

Lineage 3 Source had a link to an article saying it was going to be similar to L2, but the site is down now :/

It would be cool if they could get CryTek in on it for the new engine they have created for Crysis. The physics are awsome, if they could only put an engine and 3-D Effects like that into play, imagine a mage doing Meteor BUT the kick is, everything around you shows the after effect, trees ripping apart and falling over, the shock wave of the hit showing DMG/Effect to surrounding areas. I have been checking out their site for a while now with the new engine they have created it is wild to say the least.

How about giving an option not having 3d graphics. I prefer not having to keep viewing all around to see what's coming after me. I like the 2d overhead view. IMO, 3D is only eye candy.

3d graphics make me feel travel sickness >.<;.. !

Then Option 2 would be it, thing is your can make games like Lineage 1 looks but with a 3D Engine, this makes it possible to make way more special effects and awesome quality with now days 3D Accellerators.

3D in Locked Isometric camera, wont make you look around you or make you get travel sickness :P but it defently is Eyecandy :P

well Option 1 or 2, 2 is just so its up to players themself if they want to be "able" to see bigger scale/look around you like L2

Lineage 3 doesnt need to be made. They just need to keep the topside on Lineage 1, but make the graphics 3d. If they made Lineage 1 prettier, they could re-market it. It would probably be a decent success. The game has all the necessary content to make it amazing, it just lacks prettiness.

I can agree to that o.o, make it better looking and you will attract alot more people to lineage 1.

i like the concept of having both of the actions in one because people like choices

Ill say 3D but ide prefer if the combat system was more like Lin 1 a point and click style i hate the targeting style games even tho for 3d point and click would be difficult to master but i think more fun once you did

Linage one graphics ar fine the way they are.. i wouldnt change anything about it.. only thing that i would change is the know amount of bots.. quit messin areound and ban the accounts.. not to get anyone upset but i was playing FFXI for about 4 months and they banned 20,000 accounts the First week we were there for RTM (real money trading) they dont care about the amount of "PPL" that play they want ppl to have fun in the game.. and play it all the time, to me it seems that NC just wants the money and dont care about the happiness of the game players, thats why ppl are quiting the game they cant take the bots..

Lineage 3 ?? wow i'm really late in the news dammmmn ... haha well i really wonder if lineage 3 will come with anything "new" on lineage... but maybe 3d like lineage 2 would be great ... altho lineage 1 still rocks even tho i did not play for a year now lol i can't wait to come back XD i think i missed alot ... ;(

I agree with ScottS. Really cant stand with all the 3D games out there... The game play experience with L2 is really not as good with L1, especially the part where Elf cant make their own items!~

Sry i havent been here in a while to read up on the latest news etc, been very busy in r/l things.
Anywho, Ive been testing out a few other games over the last 9 months or so , off and on.
3-D graphics is nice , but if youre not used to it,it can be a pain to get in the hang of playing in that game.
Things I would like to see put into Lineage if youre gona make it a 3D graphics game:
1. The ability to see just how many more pts you need before you level up.
The way things are now, we dont know how much longer it will take to accomplish the next level and to me its just sooo annoying, and then it becomes a boring ongoing game, cause it forces ya to concentrate on nothing but leveling.
Ive gotten so bored, just trying to level a char its gotten to the state that I dont want to log back into this game, cause I dont have any idea as to how many more 'YEARS" its gona take me to get my character to her next level up! EER.
2. Compass's in other games that have 3D graphics, is nice at times, but not necessary, cause in FFXI and in DAoC, those compass's got me lost several times.
3. The ability that another person can not target and attack your mops , after you have already targeted and started to end it.
4. Make the distribution of drops actually work correctly, plz.
a. Make it so only drops goes to the person that targeted that mop or the party that attacked it, not a outsider that just came up and attacked it ,and then they get the drops, thats just not cool. -.-
5. Timer for summons would be nice, that way we know when they will end.
6. Not nerfing magic for Prince/ss , Dark elfs, Elfs, Knights, Magicians.
It's understandable that certain classes get magic at certain levels, but there's no since in restricting it.
If a person is gona put that much effort in getting a character to that far, why nerf the magic they would acquire at that point.
7. They should make more equipment for lower level characters to be useful.
8. Make summons to be useful before level 40, because the current summons up to that level are too weak to handle what the magician has to fight to make it worth leveling with the use of summons.
9. A suggestion based from another game,ie: They had summons that you called to assist you while you were hunting, they provided either healing or utility applications/hitting switches-buttons.
example: a fairy summon would heal you when your hp dropped while fighting.
You could provide a ring to players that would give them this special summon capability.
You could provide a new quest that players would have to take to get this new summon ring.
Maybe like ffxi, has rings that are limited to 1 use every 1hr or so. and that ring has like 30 charges on it, then when it runs out , the player takes it to an npc to have it recharged for a nominal fee, parce 1k or 5k.
Just a few suggestions via my kids and I for the future of Lineage.

So far ive been in this game about 5 yrs, and loved it in the beginning, ive put up with the botter invasion, and dealt with it.
But Ive also got my many,many, many annoyances in this game too.
If changes are not made to improve its current situation, then I will be leaving.
p.s.
Fracas im sure the events you put together the last few months have and will be grand, in all that they are worth, im looking forward to the 2x experience event.

I thought I read somewhere that the Lineage 3 source code got hijacked by an ex-employee. Who knows if this game will ever come to see the light now.

I would like to have a "random quests" system in Lin3...

Let's say some random NPC in town at a random time will give out random quest to players; but, only the first few players complete the quest get random rewards (depends on how difficult is the quest given).

Some rare random stats on items would be great too, maybe we are able to obtain a +1 str katana from boss.

I want the same lin graphics... :) It brings out the true players in people and turns away those graphic kids... The ones who only play for the graphics !

In general, the advantages of Lineage 1 are years of content development, an overhead view (for those who like them), a great PvP system, and an instant teleportation system (one of Lineage 2's biggest disadvantages was NC's failure to include teleportation scrolls).

I actually think that the Quest system in Lineage 1 ranks among the worst in any game, as most games like Lin2 and WoW now feature an indicator above an NPC's head indicating that a quest is available.

I also think that Lineage 2 is a great game, but it's slower than many 3-D MMORPGs, and that's where a teleportation system would have come in handy.

Moreover, the amount of PvP was stunted by the lack of instant SoEs and a high cost of items. No one wants to fight if it takes forever and a day to get your items and only 10 seconds to lose them.

In terms of graphics, I don't think it matters.

The successful action for Lineage 3 would be to combine the positives of both games into a game that dwarfs all others. I don't think the developers of Lineage 2 paid much attention to the positive aspects of Lineage 1--big mistake.

The thing I would actually like to see for these games is VR. It would be great if we could actually swing our swords and run and make different hand movements to cast spells. Of course, that is asking more than we are likely to get. But the development of technologies like the Nintendo Wii makes it increasingly possible.

I think they need to try something new ( or at least something I've never seen before =/) They need to keep the 3D graphics but adopt a more Lineage 1ish gameplay style. I'm talking about fighting large groups, things getting killed quick, there is no slow auto-attack that you find in the bulk of new MMOs, you click to fight like you would in Lineage. I think it would be quite enjoyable.
