Elven Help

Seems to me that a true str elf should do full con then the rest into strength... If you are going to be melee'ing you will want that hp... The str can be made up with PG's Str spell and eventually adding stats.

that is true, but hte harder hitting from str is needed too. With the elven helm of con I get a +2 to con. When I find that elven sword of CON that +7 selling for 1mil - that will up my CON again. We will see - if I don't like it i can delete it since I delete and level 45 mage to make it!

Con points added from items only increase your hp regen and carry capacity, it will not increase your HP gains at lvl up. Only base con does. Str can be made up, HP can not.

Ya... Dont play with your stats... There are tried and true stat combinations for every type of class build that work well. People have tested all the combinations... Go with the ones that work.

Otherwise you end up like Cosa with weird stats and no idea what to add at level 51... Right Cosa? Decide what to add yet?

I'd always go with a dex elf... Leveling becomes real easy! You don't need too much HP because you're not supposed to get hit, and the AC bonus more-or-less makes up for the drop.

For what it's worth my elf is dex. I started him to primarily defend at sieges. He did level fast. I got to 49 with that character faster than any other. However, at 49 I wish I had gone full con. When I see other elfs of the same level with 150 more HPs than I have it pains me.

So if you are going to level him high go con. If you just want a mid-level character to bump around on, go dex.

I think a wisdom elf could be fun with trip arrow as well but I havent tried leveling one yet.

When i ran an elf a while back, i went full con and had over 565hp BASE at 48, i heard that was an uber amount, so i guess i was just really really lucky. other con elves had 570 with 50hp belt and orc ammy. i leveled slower than dex elves but once i got the dex buff i leveled roughly the same speed then at 48 i went sword and started to level faster than dex elves. Its all about what you want for that character loads of hp, or to level fast at first. in my opinion i start all chars with full con/wis... because after the high levels you can NEVER make up those hp/mp loss due to low rolls but int/str/dex/cha can be made up later with stat points, items, and elixers.

Elven Info!!!

I have 2 ELFs! One is 47 and other is 46. The lvl 46 is full dex and rocks. The lvl 47 is the 1st ever character that I started playing on Lin1. His stats are weird for an ELF. I put some in str, dex, con, and wiz, so he was really slow leveling. The lvl 46 elf was that level after about 3 weeks. I only play a couple of hours a day when possible.

The way I was taught to play (and it may have changed now) was to chose Con for knights/elves/Delves you know you will stick with until high level, Wis for mages. Royals is a bit diff, really depends on what you plan to do with them. If you're just playing around or testing a class, chose Str for knights and Delves, Dex for elves, Int for mages.

Again, that's how I was taught, but things may have changed for the endgame chars now (seeing a lot more Charisma characters that *aren't* royals...).

That sounds great, but with a DEX ELF you will level a lot faster. My level 47 ELF (CajunELF) has 412hp and 214mp. I put DEX to 18 and then rest in CON. My other level 47 ELF (TENDAL) was done a lot different! I put WIS to like 15, DEX 15, CON 13, and STR was +ed up some. I took forever to level him to 47, but I still play him from time to time. Eventually, Tendal will become full DEX (remake) because of the DEX advantages that it provides.

Oh, no doubt you'll level faster with Dex, but I look at it as an investment...Dex bonus come whenever you add dex, Con is mostly if you start with it. That said...my elfy is dex too ^.^ She's rarely played tho, I use my princess and knight mostly.

I made another elf that is 18 str and 13 con! Seems to working well for me!
