lvl 45 mage help/advice

I know a mage that leveled very fast in OWL. Sorry to hear about your lag problems, just hang in there.

My mage has deleveled more than 30 times... and died well over 100 times... Mostly due to lag, and some due to negligence... And because of that I have horrible MP at my lvl. Almost 30 less mp than someone of the same level. It sucks, but stick in there and you will get your goal.

I've stayed at 46.15 to 46.35 for ages now. Only delevelled twice (in total I lost 2 mp from them put together, but still okay mp for my level). Generally I gain exp in FV (gain more than I lose, I should say), and then I try 51f or 21f and die in a few minutes to lag. I would honestly pay extra to not have this crappy hospital net, if it was an option.

But till it sorts itself out, I think I'll just hunt FV and craft and stock up on money.

Question: 6 months from now, would you expect most pricy spellbook prices to go up or down (I'm especially interested in HW and Adv)? Just wondering if there's any point in investing in any of them before I can fully use them.

with bots basically naming these prices ... U NEVER KNOW!!! >.<

Ya, 'Koreans' pledge (name of the pledge, not being racist here) controls the market for AS spellbooks on Ken server because they hack/bot 81f+ all day.

I have lag deaths all the time. i have only gained about 5% in the last 3 months because of it. ^^

No, seriously, I'm going backwards in exp now, and this is at lvl 46 in FV, which is not even remotely dangerous until I lag for 30 secs and get taken from full to 0 health by some random aggro mop. It's difficult to have fun when your connection decides to add a hard-cap on exp at lvl 46, and you actually do want more than the occasional ash drops.

The servers have been hiccuping alot lately... I have seen many people die...

I'm on really fast net when it comes to download speeds, but unfortunately it has random lag spikes. I think it's independing of the server hiccups, unfortunately, since I've had it for quite some time. Lost another 10% trying to play today, got fed up and went back to shop mode again.

If you have Holywalk... I would suggest you visit the Elmores on 51f. You will find wonderful exp made with relative ease. Point, Click, POP!!, and exp for you.

Work on getting an arobe if you can, it will significantly increase your exp made anywhere.

51-60 are great depending on your style/level/gear. Without HW, I would not go above 51.

They will pop for you, but at your lower int, it will take a few tries. You will end up taking some hits, and they do hit hard. You will not be able to outrun them. Best bet is go slow, keep a lot of mp, you cant run from them, so dont run far to keep more from coming. Ith urself if you have to. And you mentioned, if you should hit them first or something else... I do not think attacking them increases/decreases your TU success rate. The only thing that you could do to aid your success rate (besides adding int or lvl ups) is to erase magic them. But you would not be able to do that as a mage.

I have the same stats as you do. I have hunted there since 45 and I am now very close to 50. Do not forget to take pots!!

It is still worth hunting there without holywalk, but it is much more dangerous. Try it out, the worst that would happen is you have to escape. See how you like it.

Also you could try just melee/VT in FV with your som/sof. Wont need summons for that. Could also try that on 2xflr. And TU/som combo in DV/DVC is nice to.

Experiment, but most of all, just have fun.

That all depends on your hunting style...

You will notice when you get up there that the floor is littered with ghaste pots, res scrolls, remove curse scrolls and the occasional 61f scroll. Many higher level mages dont bother picking them up because it cuts into their leveling time. So while you are strutting around the floor, pick up the items that the litter bugs left around. If they make you to heavy, summon a summon and put it on defense to carry your extras. Careful not to get your summon hit by the swing of the Elmore Soldier, it will rip him open and spill your goods back into your inventory, which if there were a lot would be a problem.

It may be best to find an area of the floor that is somewhat wide open that you could leave ur summon at. And then do circles around the summon as you hunt. This will keep the summon out of harms way. (but opens you up to chao making tactic, so be fearful) If you are afraid of chao making tactic, you could just pile the pots somewhere and hunt around them. But be careful because there are people that will come steal them.

Remember that res scrolls sell for 500 and ghaste sell for 750. Stay up there long enough and you should be able to pay for your pots, your teleport scroll to get there, and possibly make a little money. Depending on how long your hunt is, and how many pots you burn.
Be conservative when using pots. The faster you use them up, the faster your hunt will end. Use the extra ghastes instead of hasting yourself to save some mana that way.

Also, all the elmores have a very rare chance to drop 10%mr ring. Not sure what those sell for on your server, but they still get me 2m on Ken.

I tried 51f. Unfortunately, it was a complete disaster with two quick deaths. First time seemed a bit bugged, since I went from full health to 0 in 1 second as a orc zombie appeared out of the blue. Second time I was 2vs1 by elmores. Before that I had a real struggle with some elmores, even with 20 int, they would just not turn.

I guess I have to return to FI until I figure out something else.

With that gear I really recommend DV Beach and DVC. Youll own there!

Well, it now turns out: There are lots of places that my mage can hunt and make lots of exp. There's no places where I can hunt, because my connection sucks and gives me 30 second lag spikes (or more) when it feels like. I think my two hunts today were especially bad:

51f, TU one elmore, cast TU on a second and go into a 30 second lag and of course die.

Go to FV instead, kill a pack of fire eggs, kill a fire archer, cast frozen dagger on a lava golem and then lag while they (two lava golems) walk over and kill me and walk off.

I seriously can't think of any way to make exp reasonably (OWL isn't really an option as there's nearly no exp per time spent there). Until I figure it out or I get a better connection, I guess I have to sit in shop mode for the rest of my lineage carreer.
