In the ronound "Fracas' Bot Thread", our "Hound at the helm" boldy declares a minor victory in the war on bots:
Our head GM caught the "godfather" of an online adena seller red handed the other day. We were able to ban him and the accounts of all the minions funneling money to him. Although I can't give numbers or names, I can say that this one swing took about 800,000,000 of "dirty adena" out of circulation. A small victory in a large war, but it made me smile.
The saddest part is that if
The saddest part is that if it weren't for PLAYING members of the Lineage community, these bots wouldn't have anyone to sell to, and botting, at least for cash, would be a waste of time. Obviously, it's not just the botters who cheat, and the people who buy from them are just as guilty as the botters (I may even despise them more, if that's possible).
In any event, good start NC. Keep it up!

this is pointless considering bots/farmer elves on 44f can earn about 1m per hour and their are billions in mlc/dvc that earn constant adena.
800m would probably take a farming team few days.
and for all i know, none of this ever happened. NAME the bots, NAME the adena buyers associated with the transaction..
you can claim you banned but without proof there is no point. they can say they banned over 300000mil adena but how do we know if its true.. i dont trust their word.

This is a great victory for honest players everywhere! And I agree with Sk8, they probably do have more than 800m in "dirty adena." But you figure they sell most of it, they have to build their stockpile back up. But GMs should not have to carry this burden alone. When I finally get a subscription, I will make it my duty to report all suspicious activity to the local GMs.
And Genoxide, I understand where you're coming from. You want to see the reaction to the action. But due to privacy laws, this is impossible. You just have to have faith in the GMs. I've seen from previous posts that you all think of Fracas quite highly, so you need to say to yourself: Would he/she lie to you? Could you not give this person the benefit of the doubt when they say they've captured and banned a notorious adena seller?
I'm not one to start anything intentionally, this is just one humble man's opinion.

...have you noticed the absence of ThisIsABook, and his ilk? With the exception of ThisIsCBook, they all got banned. Either C was an independent party, and somehow got overlooked. However, he popped on for a few seconds after the ban, and hasnt been on since.

I am not rich. I am actually pretty broke at the moment. Its just after you play for a while, your items pile up. If I were to sell just the junk items I have that I drop in storage after each hunt, I could make a few mil cash. (15000 Nhaste potions for example)
And when you fully equip multiple characters the investments add up to. The only thing really is the well over 200m spent on spells for the mage that really dont retain their value, because you cant unlearn them... But I definitely have 800m invested...
And I know Chance, although he claims he doesnt, probably has 800m in items on his 1 char right now... My 800m is spread over 3 chars.

800m is very much for me too, all my items and adena together is maybe worth 50m and I've been playing since 2003.
But for bots this is a very normal amount, a lvl 45 bot makes atleast 1m a day, not to even talk about lvl 52+ bots. If this "godfather" has like 20 lvl 45 bots, he will make 20m a day, thats an easy 600m a month.
But I guess this guy has way more bots and on all the servers, and most of them are lvl 52+. So he will make billions a month, whilst most of the lowlevel legit players will get 4m a month after some hard work :P
Also, these godfathers control the market, which give them even more power. NC gotta take these guys very serious, they dont know what they doing by waiting so long to take action.
