I mean, seriously. Look at all the new places since Fire Valley was published: Oren, IT, FI, Forest of Dawn, Aden Sewers, Twilight Mountains, TOI, FI, PI, Lastabad, Oum Caverns, Great Cavern, SoE, Elemental Ruins, Abyss Lake, missing some I'm sure but the other ones I rarely hunt simply because FV has it all:
1) Easy to access. No wait on boat, no slog through boring easy dungeon to get to the good stuff, no expensive scrolls to purchase, etc.
2) Great XP. Still the best XP in game for elf, at least, given mop availability and level of crowding.
3) Bosses (for spice).
4) Good money, good drops.
Why can't one of the new publishes give us an area that is easily accessible, gives good xp, good money, and bosses like FV does? It's a mystery.

Personally, I havent hunted (actually hunted, not just ran up for a Iffy or Pho) in FV in almost 2 yrs.
I cant stand it. And the Mac bug makes it even worse.
DV/DVC offers the same thing btw, but at this point its not an option because NC cant step their game up and let their actions speak louder than their words and remove the damn bots that overrun that cave.
PI is actually really great to, you should try it.

I agree with Ingen here. FV is about the best easy "access place" to hunt. I go there for a quick % if I have limited time but as far as $, drops, exp, an "bosses" .. there are better for all .. but FV does have a good mix. The Iffy .. what a joke .. seldome worth the pots. Pho .. best have few friends at the ready or you'll miss out.
I agree with Sk8 on the DV/DVC areas, used to hunt them alot, but now .. too many dayum bots. Though the Drops and exp are good.
I tend to hunt ToI mostly, there are different drops on different floor sets, (Depending on what you want/need) the exp is good, and though the scrolls can be expensive I try to keep my eye on my stacks and go where I need to before I run out of any one Floor.
So .. I guess I'd say to you .. get out .. see the World .. explore new places, meet new Mops .. an SLAY them !! You never know, You might end up with a new Favorite place to hunt !

It's not. FV is a horrible place to hunt - sure it's easy to get to, but so is Giran 4F, Temple of Shadows, IT5 & 7 are GREAT for elves.
The problem with FV is that it's easy and un-challenging... you get used to it. Remember when you started hunting there? It was difficult - and you managed it ok. Time to move on buddy. Those "hard" places ain't really all that hard ;-)

Roo's right about the easy to get to / unchallenging thing eh .. though I don't think it's a "Horrible" place to hunt for the simple fact that the exp/drops(an cash) are decient and it isn't .. an I emphasize "ISN'T" ... over run with Botters like alot of Giran Dungeon, The Ivory Tower Floors, DVC, MLC, SKT .. yada yada yada .... the list goes on. There are better places to level an Elf ..specially if you are an Earth Elf ^^ try 31+ ToI

Yes, it is easy access. But waiting for a boat isn't too bad unless you're only hunting for 15 minutes anyway.
Way overcrowded on LoA I think, and exp was actually not that great.
Iffy drops poorly to me (think best was a dai) although it is such an easy kill I guess it makes sense, and I've never spotted the phoe.
I think money trickles in okay, but I'd not say it's all that great by any means. And that is taking the sale value of drops into account.
So all in all, FV is a well rounded, decent hunting ground IMO. I often recommend people to go there if they need money and have poor equip. But it's not the ultimate hunting ground IMO.

Heh, well, I play a lvl 48 int elf (so I basically blast through FV but stuggle in hard places without fire mops), I rarely play for more than an hour at a time, and when I do I am frequently interrupted. Which means that I can only hunt TOI on rare occasions. In fact, as I read through what I just wrote, I am wondering why I play at all, since the game is clearly not optimized for people like me. Ah well.
Temple of Shadows kicks my ass. I always run into Chaos and die or venz.
For an int elf, Iffy is cake, and will often drop a zel or dai (and has dropped me bkat a couple times). With my v-t I can pull drops from phoe--haven't gotten anything good yet, but here's hoping. And yeah, I know I'm horribly optimized for FV lol. But I'm trying to change! I just went fire, and am experimenting with ele falldown.
I do explore--I hunt lots of weird places, but I always come back to FV when I feel I'm not leveling fast enough (which is most of the time lol) or running out of money.

Yep, I hunt there sometimes and it works nicely (though I'm not water, but with int elf v-t i don't really need to be). I just have to make sure I have an uninterrupted block of time, which is the thing that cheeses me about the otherwise enjoyable TOI. Still, the 31f scrolls drop plentifully, and as long as there's a market for them one can turn a profit in a half-hour or less. Good point. =)
