Wow Stress test on Nozadue server

Hi I just wanted to let you guys know that for this week Daz and I are playing Wow stress test. We are on Nozadue (sp) server usually. I'm Thistle and he's either Dazaran (a paladin) or Grey a Warrior elf. Whisper us if you are on!

Just thought I would drop a l

Just thought I would drop a line here on what it's like to play on a very under-powered computer.

Since I'm in K.C. and my iMac and Tower are both still in Louisiana, I'm trying WoW on my mom's 450 Mhz G3 iMac.

It's slooooow, but runs. It's not too bad for getting used to the interface and playing around with the opening of the game, but I'm guessing I would tire of it pretty quick as the game advances.

My guess is anyone with a G4 should be fine to play the game. Any other input on this from anyone playing on other machines?

power book wow

I played on my G4 867mhz power book and even though it was "below" the standards it ran great. no lag and only 1 dc throughout the entire stress test. GREAT GAME!

It really is a great game

You are not kidding, zooom. By the way, I actually saw a player named "zoom" and whis'd them thinking it might be you but they had no idea what I was talking about.

I can't wait for open beta and eventualy live status for this game. I only got to play for a total of about eight hours, but I had so much fun with it. I played a gnome warlock (not one of the recommended classes for gnomes, but it was fun). I got to level 9 and learned the spell summon imp. The summon spell in this game is so much cooler than that of Lineage.

The biggest thing this game has going for it over Lineage is the selection. There are so many different ways to enjoy this game it is unbelievable. Consider the factions. Then consider the many different races. Then consider the different classes ... tanks, priests, rogues, warlocks, mages, hunters and more.

Then consider the professions you can learn AFTER you find the right mix from the above. If you like to just play the game, level up and get drops you can do that. If you like to do quests, there are an unlimited number to enjoy.

What I like most about the WoW quests is that they play into the story line of the game, but unlike Lineage they actually FEEL like you are in the story. They didn't just write some text that fits the story then send you off on a cookie cutter quest. The other nice thing is the text is not ridiculously long. There are a lot of them, but each of them take minimal reading and are actually enjoyable to read and follow.

Here is an example of one of the quests I enjoyed that lead directly into another quest:

There are frostmane trolls that wander around just a little bit outside of the town. They are about the fourth monster level you encounter. I ran into a guy at a hut while doing a quest that required me to gather some furs from wolves in exchange for some new gloves. The guy tells me that the town needs help killing these trolls because the town has it's hands full with another mop (which is another quest, by the way). He tells you to kill a given number. As you kill then a message pops up on the screen to tell you how many total you need to kill and how many you have already killed.

Anyway, after you get them all you go back to the guy for the reward and he immediately has another quest for you that connects neatly to the one you just finished. It turns out the trolls attacked his shop and stole something (I seem to recall it was a journal). He gives you the name of the troll that has it (a sort of mini-boss) and tells you if you can kill it and return his journal you get another reward.

The game flows so nicely, the interface is great and choices in character creation, character development and actual game play make WoW one sweet MMORPG.

I hope everyone will at least try this game when open beta comes around.
