Mic check mic check, is this thing on? *cough*
So, a blog! A Lineage blog! MY OWN BLOG SPACE THING. BEHOLD!
As you lineage.com forum types may have already read, we published the "Spring" event content to Public Test earlier today. Although it's not possible for it to be a "Spring" Event anymore, there are some springy-like themes in it. Ok, maybe that's a slight stretch, but there ARE rabbits in it, and rabbits will forever symbolize spring. Why?
Well, one reason would be because of their reputation to rapidly reproduce, which symbolizes a new beginning. If I recall correctly there is an expression that goes along with this, but I am not going to go there. Nossir, not in this blog. This is a family-friendly blog. We'll just say that bunnies love each other a whole whole lot, and a whole whole lot...often. When one bunny loves another bunny, it causes thousands of baby bunnies to come raining down from space. Don't worry, the baby bunnies don't need oxygen until they land on earth, and the armor they are born in protects them on re-entry through the earth's atmosphere. By "born" I mean "appear out of nowhere in space" and the armor sheds off their body around the same time their eyes open.
See? Spring.
Another reason would be that the word itself, "spring", can very much describe what a rabbit does if you chase it with a hammer. Lunge at a bunny with a hammer and you'll notice it "spring" away. Please do not try this at home, especially if your bunny is blind. If you must, please provide frequent audible queues to let the bunny know it is in danger. Also be sure to perform this activity outdoors where there is a lot of open space so that your bunny does not "spring" into a "wall".
Spring.
So why did it take so long? Hmm. Ok, fair play.
My usual event/content creation process looks something like this:
1. Come up with an idea.
2. Elaborate on the idea and create a plan.
3. Begin execution of said plan.
4. Realize that part of step 2 won't work because something in part 1 isn't actually possible, or at least not as originally intended.
5. Return to step 1, keeping what worked and filling in for what dropped in step 4.
6. Repeat the above 5 steps about 16 times.
7. Once satisfied, show it to QA so they can point out everything you missed in steps 1-5.
8. Repeat step 6 twice.
9. Done.
In the case of this event, step 1 got whittled down to just a couple core concepts, leaving a lot to be desired. Fortunately that's where the players came in by providing ideas and feedback on the message boards. Hopefully enough holes were filled in to make this a fun yet challenging event, without being too fun or too challenging. Ok, so too fun is ok, but too challenging may not be. That's where the final step comes into play, the step that gives me the shakes each and every time.
10. Moment of truth (Public Test)
So that's where we are now. What I'll be watching for here is feedback on whether it's too easy or too hard, looking at the drops to see if they're too low or too high, and simply reading what players have to say about it. Have at it.

The only bad thing about
The only bad thing about this event, aside from no DK or other poly, is that caves are going to be a part of it, and as anyone who has been to mlc in the last few months knows, there is nothing but bots in mlc. I hope whatever you are putting in mlc for the event kills them forever..
The cave portion, he
The cave portion, he mentioned, was not actually part of the event, but more of something experimental.
I guess he assumes (would be a good assumption) is that during the event all the real players will be on the two islands. So its a perfect time to unleash uber killer bunnies to kill every single bot in MLC and DVC. However, if this is the case, you should extend it to Heine caves, and SKT caves.
But that just brings me to something else... If you know that its just bots down there, that are mindlessly hunting away, so that you would unleash instant death rabbits on them... (effectively ruining their game play, which seems like something you wouldnt be allowed to do if they were real players)... Why dont you just ban the damn things? I mean its no different than turning hell off and letting the players go off on the bots without consequence. Bots still die over and over. Bots still come back to die again. But they dont go away. Ban them... Its the only solution.
Unless I am completely wrong about your intentions of the cave infestation rabbits. Which is entirely possible. =)
Got Blog?
Your points are exactly why
Your points are exactly why it's experimental. It was originally part of the event design, providing alternate maps for bunny infested ones that players could access (much like how they get to the islands). Turns out this would burn resources I didn't want to burn though, so I left the bunnies in just as an experiment. Whether or not they get to the live servers depends on what happens on test.
I went and tried the event
I went and tried the event last nite. I was really good, after collect the needed carrot parts to get to the next island it was a bit tougher. The part that confuzzed me was it said carrot roots when it was actually carrots fiber. After getting to island #2 you better be an upper lvl player or you wont last long with mops that are spawning, unless they are going to be weakened like the halloween event, but other than that i found it to be really good event, GOOD JOB GUYS!!!!
Ah, a bug! Thanks!
Ah, a bug! Thanks!
Oh i'm really excited to
Oh i'm really excited to hear that Baranka was included in the event. I hope its not the same Baranka that we find in Lastabad cause he never drops anything except seal T.T.. If so please increase his drop rate so we at least have chance at his unique items. Thank you.
i totally agree on this
i totally agree on this one... its so not worth to kill... but we kept killin ghim thiking it would drop something good.. and NEVA!! soomy still down there...... and STILL no drop from it >. risk > reward

The bosses seem to have been
The bosses seem to have been made harder. Maybe it's just me. They don't necessarily hit any harder, but I sure seem to run out of mana before the boss dies a lot more often than I did before. They are still reasonable, though.
