With the event set to hit the live servers Wednesday, I thought I should post a quick primer on how to get started.
1) Go to Giran and find the Mysterious Old Man (Hint: He looks suspiciously like an old lady) northwest of the cross.
2) Answer a series of questions from the Old Man. Pay close attention to the questions and your answers. If you are wrong, you will only have to start over, but if you insult him he will hit you with destroy. The correct sequence of answers is "I understand." "fifty-one." "destroy a token." "Confirm." "two."
3) Kill the bunnies. There are two different levels of bunnies and the higher level one is significantly harder than the lower levels. Neither should pose a huge problem for a reasonably equipped player on Ken or Dep. In addition to ingredients for the key and cloak, the bunnies drop nzels, ndais, dragon scales and miscellaneous junks (they may also drop other good items I have not seen).
In order to get your key to the boss island, you will need: 10 Fiber, 10 Root, 10 Greens and 5 Essence.
In order to get your Freedom Cloak, you will need: 50 Fiber, 50 Root, 30 Greens and 10 Essence.
4) Go back to town and see the Mysterious Crafter, near where you start on the island. (Note: Using an escape scroll on either the rabbit or boss island will take you back to the starting location). To get off the islands, use a btele or restart to go to Giran.
5) Go back to the Mysterious Old Man in Giran and he will now give you the option to jump straight to the boss island or go back through the questions to go to the rabbit island.
6) Enjoy the bosses.

Some random questions I've been asked about the event, and the answers as I understand them:
Q: Do all the bosses drop the same?
A: Yes and no. According to Fracas, they have a chance to drop the same stuff but some drops are more probable from a specific boss. The harder mops have more chances to drop uber stuff than do the easier ones.
Q: How long will it take to get the cloak and key ingredients?
A: This seems to depend greatly on how lucky or unlucky you are. Some people say they made both inside of an hour. Others say it took them an hour just to make the key. The best advice I can offer is start hunting them and just see how it is going. Then you can decide whether or not you want to keep going or skip to the boss island as soon as you make your key.
Q: How long will the event last?
A: Fracas has said that both the boss island and the cloaks will last for two weeks.

lol yes if u insult the old man he does hit u with destroy and it will most likely kill u if ur under 400 hp i think i havent tested that yet to see. but i know that my knight had about 300 hp when i decided to go to the island, and it killed me...
no it does not matter that its a safty zone in town it hurts! lol

Whats a good boss wep for the event for a knight? Especially against Pho and Grim.

I like the retribution for bosses personally, but that is from the perspective of someone who heals knights ... not someone who actually plays one.
Sk8 could give you a better idea on this.
I would say Bkat, but its up

Others may argue that since the bosses damage weapons that you should use something along the lines of a Bume. Some prefer the damage output of a Ret. (I dont personally because I have no desire to give up my SoE)
Also, something like a Btsu would be best for Bapho.
Ill be using bkat on pho/grim/baranka.
Tsu on bapho/rabbit
Rap on Dk
Thats what I use on the real versions, so I assume the weak versions will need no change to that.

Thanks everyone for the fine information! I went a little late to test, after they killed the drop rate, and couldn't really get far enough to find out anything myself, so all this guidance is greatly appreciated.
For tomorrow, lets all have fun and keep our senses of humor when the children start misbehaving over the bosses :)

carrot parts are non-tradeable, BUT summons and pets do pick the parts up, and as mrhood said they will fall on the ground from a ranged weapon... i tested all of those with my mage cuz i couldnt kill anything..

I hunted in a group and I would let the melee (70de) hit the boss first and then i would send my dires at it.. and when i send it to baranka.. it always turns away from the de and hits the summons once or twice and then goes back to hitting the de. My dires did pull drops but it was just the resources..

chryses mrhood and myself did some testing with 1 giant and 2 knights and 1 giant and 1knight and 2 mages the giants and cyclopes do a lot of damage, but plz plz plz if u do decided to use them make sure u kill them so they dont attack ppl that are afk or beating on something.. ppl on test were releaseing them to attack other players plz dont be that rude

the ppl on test were filling them up with maps from the towns and so the post werent getting the drops.. things were either falling on the ground or droppin to the person that tamed them.
