Question
This might sound like a stupid question right now to many people who play Lineage, but I felt like I have to ask.
This is probably my fourth or fifth time playing Lineage, and this is the first time I've ever gotten this close to level 48. (Previous times, I gave up right before level 36)
My question is this... For all those who play or have played an elf, what would you suggest as a good place to hunt for a level 47 water elf? Given my ac is -57 (with event cloak), +7 yumi. (with no money to buy any other better equipment)
I've been stuck on level 47 for a few months and I've tried hunting on TOI 33-34, but I can't seem to escape the fate of death up there. I've also tried DV 5-6f, but man, way too many bots.
I am open to all suggestions and I do realise that there might not be any better place to hunt... Still, feel free to fire up your suggestions!
Answer
Where you should hunt always depends on what you want to achieve. In your case I have two suggestions.
If you're looking for money - Oren Wastelands is a pretty easy going place and a good money-earner. For a little more of a challenge and better loot you can go to Fire Valley.
If you want quick experience - Giran Caves 3f can be a pretty neat place to hide-out, the experience is good but the drops are pretty few and far between. The outer area of the temple of shadows might be a nice place to try too, although you will need to take great care here... It's great for experience, but the loot is very poor.

for lvl 47 im a lvl 49
for lvl 47 im a lvl 49 con/water elf i hunted dragon valley, u run the risk of running into the dark elder and the drakes but its good exp and decent money, u can also stock pile up on greater haste pots, emeralds and diamonds from the harpies, also theres ogres so u have a chance at holywalk from the harpies, blood of ogre and ogre belts all sell for lots of money, u make about 1% per hour give or take on the spawn.. i also hunted there lvl 48-49.. the temple of shadows is a good exp spot too.. but the drops are far and few.. if u dont have much money i wouldnt suggest that spot. Fire Valley is great too.. decent money and exp.. i used my lesser summons and went up into the loops after the bigger stuff Ifret and Pho spawn up in there but.. u can escape from them.. anyway i would suggest dragon valley as a good spot..

my suggestion, is for u to
my suggestion, is for u to change to wind if u are using a bow or fire if u are using a sword and use some oranges and hunt either fv or dv
I agree with Prominence :) I
I agree with Prominence :)
I am a lvl 57 con elf. Wind is the way to go until at least 50. Then water if you like. I was earth until 51, went to water until 56 and just recently went to fire because I hunt with sword a lot.
As far as hunting spots, yes, FV, DV also ToI 21f+
Good luck to you and always remember to have fun ;)
Ive been water since my char
Ive been water since my char was able to pick its element, i havent had any problems. Switching elements may be an idea, altho i was suggested to to switch but decided not too. ive done very well.

The only case I will make
The only case I will make for water now is tripple arrow. The water spells keeps your HPs up as you constantly blood to soul after liberal use of triple shot.
I'm pretty sure it barely
I'm pretty sure it barely compensates for the b2s - tho i wonder how it'd go with lifestream too.
The problem with lifestream
The problem with lifestream is the range. You have to stand within a couple of cells, which is ok in some places. NT, however, follows you everywhere you go. It makes a much bigger difference than you might suspect.
I miss the old NT. I
I miss the old NT.
I remember when it worked on monsters and people would NT bosses o.o
Got Blog?
I've actually forgotten what
I've actually forgotten what it did. Wasn't it like a full-heal or something?
Yes, full heal in the sense
Yes, full heal in the sense that it did fully heal you, no matter what your HP. And it did work on monsters.

You can probably regen
You can probably regen faster using b2s + gheal then relying on that water spell.. especially on ken where u have no fear of someone coming and smacking you when you are at low hp..
I find that lvl 40 water spell useless.. people cast it on me but im always full hp(pots or lesser heals) so it has no real affect on me.. and since im constantly on the move it would take like 13 or 26 full seconds before I get a tick which would increase my hp but seeing how my hp is already full it wouldnt matter..
Well you will definitely
Well you will definitely need greater heal from time to time, too. Particularly if you are dex.
But every bit helps. I know one con elf for example that with nature's touch he regens HPs almost as fast as he can blood to soul. There's something to be said for that.
I used to have a level 45
I used to have a level 45 Int Elf that was water. You've got to view your strong points. If you like Natures Touch (like me) try using an Elven Cloak unless you REALLY need the MR (Elfs have natrually high MR so I personaly didn't need it unless I went looking for trouble). Also HP regening rings will help as well, you're water so the more HP regen you get the better. If your HP regen is high enough you'll never have to use a potion, no buying = more adena for you. People will say that the Elven Cloak isn't worth losing the MR of a CoMR but when you get right down to it very few hunting places require high MR. And the increased regen helps with Natures Touch a ton.
You're strong vs. undead types due to your silver arrows, so focus on finding out where they are and kill them (I liked DVC 2nd, Ivory Tower 6/7, and ToI 31-34). You're also strong vs. slow moving mops; Ivory Tower 4-5, Heine Cliffs, ToI 42nd (if you can hit the ghosts).
You're weak vs. fast moving monsters and hard skinned monsters. The skeles in DVC/ToI can move kinda fast so if you're not confident in your ability to kill them quickly don't bother going there, the trick is to not get mobbed. Most hard skinned monsters are slow moving so you shouldn't have problem dragging them, just don't drag them into fast moving monsters (42 IG into ghosts, IT iron golems into armors, ect.). If you do just switch targets from the slow ones to the fast ones.
I have a funny hunting style that a lot of people don't agree with but I have made money and exp in every location that I've hunted. With my Int Elf using B2M and Gheal + EC + NT, I was able to use him melee in DVC 1st floor for 30 minutes without having to stop and regen, using no potions. Profits were good, it was easy, and decent exp. Also once you get used to it Mages actually waste mana on you during party hunts healing you up from the splash/accidental pulls that you do, when you'll probably regen it before you start walking again!

The one thing i dont like
The one thing i dont like about elves is the constant b2s that u need to do, which of course slows ur hunt down in a sense, cause everytime u b2s u have to stop doing whatever it is ur doing, and even that split second to b2s adds up.

B2S does of course take a
B2S does of course take a small amount of time, but it beats the alternative. Elf doesn't have a SOM to use, but can use many mana regen items as well. Maybe that is a new item idea, a bow that steals mana from target O.o
But to look at the actual hunting, I can say that in many many hunts of 2, 3 or more in party, I have RARELY if ever had to make the party wait for me to B2S. I am a water line elf, so my mana is in constant use. I can usually heal a party, contribute some damage, and stay right with them with no need for regen, except after a serious mob assault, and even then my regen takes a tiny fraction of the time a mage regen takes.
For me, B2S is one of the things I LOVE about elves. Anyway, I guess it is just a matter of perspective.

B2s = unlimited mp... Its
B2s = unlimited mp...
Its worth the little downtime it creates. I wish I had that spell on my mage lol
There should never be a mana draining bow o.o

hunt Dark elves and griffins
hunt Dark elves and griffins southeast of Giran, its a pretty good area for exp and you have the chance of bzels, invis sb, griffon feathers, and wind tears. feathers and tears can turn into a Sayha's bow or money if you decided to sell them. also you get mith arrows from the DE's which kill faster and will save money on silver arrows. i've played elves quite a bit in the past and with your low ac you need to switch to Wind for kill speed, your G-heals will be sufficient to keep you alive. if you plan on taking this char. to 52+ and you AREN'T a con elf, then you should save yourself the trouble and stop playing that character. hp is a must a higher lvls. you can get the dex you need from spells and items. oren waste land is also a very good spot for money if you just want to go that route, its very boring but you can get a lot of btels and pots.. CoC spell books add up really quick if you take the time to do that.
i think if u want to
i think if u want to powerlvl then join a pledge have a mage hunt with u or get a 2nd pc mmake a heal slave but turn urself into wind for the extra dmg also wind buff + wafer = ownage!
