How was the Secret Islands event?

i played heal mage for bp hunts and got dark elder sandels! and upgraded my helms a little bit.just need to get cap of sema

Got some very nice stuff from this event.. not as lucky as many people but I still got a good share of drops/scrolls and was able to buy the things I needed. Ill probably make a post about it later on my blog when I have time

Got destroy on the first day of event...thought briefly about letting my mage learn it but was offered more for it than than I could pass up :-) got some really good drops afterwards also of course I looked for that second destroy for the rest of the event....never found it though, what I get for being greedy. All in all was a good event, really enjoyed all the pledge hunts. I usually solo hunt (level, level, level,...gets boring sometimes).

Normally, I would have voted for Great. But I had to go with Good.

I loved the event. I loved the teamwork. I loved the fun of killing bosses all day. I loved the drops and the money.

But I think the event was too long. It should have been 1 week. And it should not have had the drops changed mid way through. After 1 week everyone was burned out.

The bosses were a little stronger than I expected. We killed the real pho yesterday... It popped faster than the event ones did. Im talking, less than 10 seconds. And there were only 4 of us.

Right on !! Gratz to everyone who got what they wanted/needed !!
I thought the event was a Blast .. though I do agree somewhat with
you Sk8, could have ended it at the 1 week mark.(but Im glad you didn't)

All in all however this was another prime example of a "Lets pull together"
event much like the Halloween event of 06'. I hear of more than one example
(no names or Pledges mentioned here!) of how a Pledge split rather than
pulled togher.. sad .. but it happens. As for X11 ... well .. suffice it to say that
everyone who was at least partially active in the event (and even a few who
were not) got what they wanted off their wish list !! Boo Yaaa !! Keep em' comin'
NC !! Every event of this caliber only make us Stronger .. Together we stand !!!!

I hunted solo a lot, which pretty much restricted me to bunnies, baphos, and the occassional dk. Of course, my bp is extrememly small, so Baranka and GR were out for us even when all three of us elves were on, but Vala and I team hunted whenever we could and took down everthing but the two aforementioned bosses. I thought the drop distribution was really strange...I got 7 or 8 decent drops during the event, and all but 1 was from rabbits. We did get Kedo from DK, but after ending at least 400 baphos during the 2 weeks, I hadn't gotten a thing from one, solo or partied. After the first week, I got only 1 decent drop (a second Bapho staff) and a TOI 11 charm, but the cash and consumables were great (what elf can ever complain about picking up 60-100 braves per hunt?), and it's not like there are very many really uber elf items that could have dropped anyway.

I do want to add that I had a blast hunting in party with some people/pledges that I don't normally hunt with, including peeps from Deviants and some of the Roo Crew! It was tremendous fun and the best part of the event. Thank you to all the folks who invited a humble and usually lonely elf to hunt with them. :)

Kudos to NC for creativity. Thanks to Fracas for giving us something different! All in all, it was a very entertaining two weeks.

hmmmm i believe i said alot of this from my time on test when i played.. but yes i agree the event was too long and that it should have been shorter.. and that a few of the bosses had a little bit too much hp.. all points i made while playing test..

I think the event was good ... except for the length that it ran. It would have been a bit better if there would have been a drop change after the 1st week. The bosses were alot tougher than people thought they were going to be , but from playing test for the whole event myself and a few others knew what it was going to be like .. so it didnt surprize me and the others. The group hunting was a good deal.. know we know how each other hunts when we try to take on the real bosses. Good job Fracas and all the others that put on this event .... keep them coming

I thought it was just about perfect.

I have no problem with it being two weeks, but I would have had no problem with it being one week either.

My only problem with the event is the harder bosses should have dropped proportionately better than the easy ones. Killing 100 DKs, for example, should have netted considerably better items than killing 100 Mambos. Almost everyone I know got the most goodies off rabbits, even if they hunted the other stuff in parties a LOT.

I'd say of the 12 or so really, really top end items our pledge got during the event ... eight probably came from mambos.
