Initially yes, it's supposed to be pretty tough - you're not supposed to really think about enchantment scrolls too much until level 30 +

There's a "breaking point" at which things start to change, you'll make more money and enchant scrolls won't be such a big deal.

I'm sure you've seen the prices of some of the other items on sale!!

Yeah the prices are rediculous :( I can't even think about affording anything lol!
Also.. my mana regens so slow and mana potions just dont help really... am I missing something?

Get a hunter bow and silver arrows
get some poly scrolls
and hunt oren wasteland in orc scout morph and keep ur distance when u kill things..

that way u wont get hit alot and wont have to use potitions and u will make alot of money from the drops..

and I think the ez build for a starter mage is to max int/wis but the ideal is con/wis.. but u will have a hard time wit the later using spells to lvl cause ideally you will want to use the spell turn-undead to kill things to level as thier are prime locations to use that spell specifically.. like Oren Wasteland // 5x toi // 3x toi (order of difficulty)

but as said at the beggining, use a hunter bow and silver arrows + orc scout morph to hunt oren wasteland in ur early stages.. other ways to level is to mass many eggs in fire valley and mass spam frozen cloud spell on them till they die and then regen and repeat..

Thanks for your advice Prominence, I did some hunting in the Oren Wasteland but I found I miss alot with a bow unless someone buffed me, lol, so I tried Fire Valley and its great :) lvl 28 now! :D

But Adena is still a problem, all the items i've managed to find so far I can't seem to sell at all! Also.. when I set up a shop (Or minimize Lineage) after a short period of time I get disconnected from the server.. is there anyway to fix this?

Are you using a hunter bow? (it has +5hit which helps tremendously)

If my client gets minimized while in shop mode then it will crash or d.c

Its best to leave it on overnite and make sure to turn off any program that could cause a pop up (like antivirus or messenger)

Also~ lower level items that you get are very hard to sell unless u are willing to lose some money on it.

Just rememebr to keep at it and join a good pledge that will help you (help in the means of pledge hunts or advice) ~I Hunt solo, so Im not much help in that area :)

Sigh, this game is WAY to hard on new users!!!

I finally got to level 30 where people told me the game will get a bit easier due to some staff I get from a quest that lets me regen faster, anyway..

I got to level 30 and found out to do the quest you need a spell called Cancel and a spell called Create Zombie, which are both way too pricy and too hard to obtain by myself!!!

So now I'm stuck at level 30 with no drive to continue as I cant even do the quest i've leveled for :(

Those spells books are like anywhere from Free- 50k max

(the create zombie spell book i belive u need to learn so u can cast it during the quest to help with part of the quest)

Just go look in the private shops for them (most likely in giran trade zone)

if you are really havin a hard time making money, the easiest way is to create a dex elf and use your hunter bow to lvl him up.. you should be able to get to lvl 30fairly quickly even without great items.. if that doesnt make it easier for you to make money and get items, email me at and i will personally come help you.. i play on Dep but it won't take much to lvl on LoA if you know how to do it.. cya

hihi,i am also a new player playing in dep..i have talk to the npcs and they say i need to look for spellbook to learn level four magic,is the spell book very hard to look for?

You dont even need the spell create zombie u can ust put a piece of meat on the area that u are supposed to drag the dead zombie. As a mage i lvled very fast in firevalley with 2 pets they help u kill bigger mops for more exp and u can get alot of money with drops their.

Im not if you notice this website or not, but it helped me greatly when I was playing a mage (when I was stuck on my lvl 47 elf) Check it out if you havent at www.lineagedb.com

And Fire Valley is a good hunting place for lower lvl mages, also maybe you can try to get your hands on a killer rabbit. Not only does it help you with ice magic, you only have to focus on learing ice magics first, and you might get a high pet very soon too! (Must use carrot to catch killer rabbit, check crystal caves, usually you can just pick up carrot on the ground)
