ep 5 Music for Mac

So as many of you mac users know our wonderful lineage client is lacking in a few areas, one of these being that the mac client has the old crappy music from when lineage was first started and windows has the new ep5 music and sounds. Now the ep5 music is available for download on the lineage website and right now it is sitting in my music folder of my lin package contents. I moved all the old mp3 files out hoping the new ones would assimilate but it didnt work.
Does ANYONE know how to do this?

Quick fix for ya.... Open

Quick fix for ya....
Open sound options... Turn volume on music all the way down...
Open Itunes... Play all your favorite songs and pretend they are coming out of Lineage! =P

Ok Ok, thats not the answer you are looking for.

I wasnt even aware that we Mac's didnt have the latest music. I did know that certain sound files are messed up on Mac (FV lag anyone?) but I just disabled those.

I honestly havent listened to my Lineage music since... years ago. I couldnt even tell you what music there is.

I hate the music on startup/login/char select screens.. Someone tell me how to disable that to!

Got Blog?

You can change the music to

You can change the music to anything you want. my login screen plays clannad.

what u have to do is this.

locate the music portion of the lineage package.

figure out where what music goes to what location, part of game. take your fav music you want there and rename it to the mp3 file of the location ur wishing to change. then drag and drop. if u wish to keep the original around to replace later just copy all and delete all but mp3's and go from there.

for mac i just copied out the sounds folder then deleted anything not a mp3 then listened to them, and did my best to guess where the music was from.

some music is extremely familiar like battle music and login screens, but area music is harder. it takes some experimentation and patience to get it done. its nice to customize the music.

if u really wanted to do some wacky stuff u could for instance, take the wav file for the sound of a swinging blade and replace it with a fart wave HAHHA. if you are good at making wave's or other sound bits and bites you can create your own.

any and all changes made to the sounds are computer based and not detetcabla as of yet by nci, so cant be considered hacking.

Gl and have fun

Hi all, the current

coronis's picture

Hi all,

the current Mac-Client doesn't support the full episode 5 music set. The files in the sound folder are identical to those of the Windows version, copy tehm from the Windows version will not enable more music/sounds on the Mac-Version.

While the current Windows-Version supports rich environmental sound effects, the current Mac-Version doesn't play them at all.

I hope NC will enable the new music and (more important for me) the new environmental sounds with the next major client update.

Meanwhile, we Mac-Users could send NC a detailed bug list. Some graphics have a strange blue frame around them (e.g. pet control icons, spell delay timer, etc.)

Click on "Macintosh HD" ->

Rooella's picture

Click on "Macintosh HD" -> "Applications".

Control + Click on "Lineage"

Select "Show Package Contents"

Double-click on "Contents" -> "Resources" -> "Sounds".

Find the music that annoys you and copy your new music files over the top of them (making sure the names are the same as the old files).

Et voila.

You need to be a little careful tho, as like with most of it's features, the mac client has uber bugs in it's sound system - some types of sound files will make the client lag/crash/self-destruct/destory the universe, etc.

Hehe! The Mac-Client is also responsible for the rise of a new black hole in our galaxy and there a hints that the Mac-Client may be one reason for the global warming.

Rumors but still....
