-2ac and US server has red knight shield -3ac and shield of pretender king -2ac.
Is US server supporting farmers/bots since red knight shield can only obtain from doing a level 15 knight quest and real players will not waste their time doing the quest over and over by recreating characters.

as a matter of fact i do make new knights when i need the shields, cuz i get a bonus hood out of it too :)

I think it is simply one of the millions of the implemented LOA rules. When LOA first came out they probably made it like that so it would be more worthwhile for knights to use the Red Knight's set. Long before bots and all that.
You get red knight shield as
You get red knight shield as quest at level 30, and the ac used to be 2 until nc changed it.
all knight only shield was
all knight only shield was given an extra 1 ac bonus, for loa rules, but shield of pretender king came after the update and was not given the bonus.
