I also thought this was interesting...went up to water on DI and foudn 4 spirits. I was able to silence 3 of the four, and ended them with the dires.
The fourth one I was unable to silence so I didn't bother with it. I know that all sorts of people are convinced that I couldn't silence anything at all, but sorry, with a base int of 12 the thing still works. I find that water and wind are the easiest to take on my own. Earth is harder, even silenced as it has a big physical attack. Fire I don't bother with on my own. ^^ I do use my manaball, int ammy, wis pots and SOS there, and all of that helps.
