Before and After.... what do you think of the announced event? (We'll check again after the event is over.)

Got to wait and see what its like before I can answer...

If its an all out blow out festival of fun, then hecks ya what a great event...

But if they leave out level up varmits, random boss spawns all over (fun stuff for people to use their awesome gear on, since some people dont want to fight each other, and cant get to the toi bosses with all their scrolls locked up in storage), teleport npc's to take you to fun places not just normal places but SoE and Lasta3f and anywhere and everywhere... And high drop rates on consumables and enchant scrolls and things to blow so that at least we can have as much fun as possible for the weekend...

Since its all gunna be wiped anyways, I dont see any reason why we cant be given level up varmits to play with level 80 characters for a weekend, and have dragons spawn in Giran X, for example.

Make destroy drop so much that every one learns it on their alt's alt's alt mage... Because those that have it going into this event are going to have one huge advantage over those that dont, when its combined with that 20SP staff...

I'm going to do another poll post-event to see what ppl thought after actually experiencing it. This is a "pre-event" poll, in other words, what do you think *before* you actually get to see what it's like.

IMO this event should be given a chance...
For goodness sake, a lot of us asked for something different......
Like I said before, so many times, people WILL complain.... always/endlessly/continually/etc....

I agree with that, Jesy... but also have to say now that I've tried it on Test... blech. Good thought, Fracas, but... no. :)

Okay, I just started a baby royal on Test. There are no dummies to hit, so I have to kill Imps, but I have to use a sword which means I get stuff dropped to me every Imp, and by the time i end up trying to drop or delete the stuff that's made me overweight, I have 8 more Imps on me, and I die. (This really got to the point where it p*ssed me off just trying to ditch enough stuff to get back underweight.) I'm holding down my pot key, and it's still not enough. I made it to about the mid-lvl 3 and told the game to fornicate itself. If I could use one of the starting bows (royals can't), at least I might be able to kill them at a distance and not get overweight every single time.

I am now to the point where I am THRILLED I won't be here most of next weekend.

Well after trying it out on test and trying to imagine what it would be like on live I gotta say nice try Fracas but this sux. Things that suck about it:
-LvL differences because no lvl-up varmints
-WAY too much stuff dropping(may be a test only problem)
-not enough arrows/no soscs
-nothing to kill but stupid imps
-getting overweight really quick(also may be test only problem)
-nowhere I could find to obtain zels/dais
-chao+death=lotsa ppl losing items, no biggie plenty of weps and oh wait no armors
-with uber weapons and many ppl being low lvl with no hope to advance during event how long will fights even last? they'll lose their armor relatively quickly then the uber weapons will annihilate their hp
-as someone brought up before what about mage spells? Prolly won't be too long before nobody can really cast any magic.(i havent tested if you drop spells/items during event but i would assume u do)

I see what Crickette meant by it will be whatever you make of it, but honestly you guys didnt leave us much to work with. Unless significant changes are made(and i dun think there is too much time for that) i do not see much to look forward to here, except for maybe the "treat" fracas alluded to in a previous thread, as long as that is still going forward. I'm trying not to be too critical, i applaud Fracas and NC for doing something new and different, i just dont think it was executed particularly well.

I have spoke with many in my pledge on Ken Server who have been on test.
SunnyD has hit the nail on head!
Also my pledge mates have said there were 3-8 people on test when they were because of the weight/chao/lack of arrows/nothing but imps....
I wish I could play on test myself to see for myself but being on dial-up really does not lend to a lot of options ^.^
If this is the event we are going to have, I will play my wee chars on Dep.

I'll add the one other glaring thing I noticed missing...considering a lot of people will die, and probably lots of people will die more than once, they will just become easier and easier prey since their regeneration rates are going to suck. Why?

There is no place to get anything to eat to get your food gauge back up. No storage, no shops, and NOTHING that drops meat or anything else you can eat.

Oh well...apparently, people asked Fracas for something different. (Isn't there an old saying that warns "be careful what you wish for?...") I still don't see what fun a mid-level (below 50) character is going to get out of this event. Maybe I'm missing something...maybe some people like be killed over and over by high level characters, but I never witnessed that reaction back when I played on DEP. ;-)

I'd kinda like to see an actual poll with actual answers on this one.
