I don't think so.
It's the one thing Mac users get in an otherwise disgrace of a client.
There are programs that
There are programs that allow you to run a full screen program in windowed mode. (And no, I dont mean hack/bot programs, just freeware programs.) But the questiobility of the 'legitness' of using a 'third party program' in conjunction with Lineage comes into play. It doesnt alter the game play, it doesnt do anything for an advantage, and it isnt anything that is detectable, and NC wont waste time going after you for it. (Just like they ignore people that alter sprites, which is slightly more questionable than this program)
--Sk8 is not advocating the use of third party programs--

You will never get a straight answer from them on this. =)
They will not, will not, say yes you can use this program in conjunction with Lineage. Because then someone else will say... He can use this program, why cant I use this other program... He can use that other program, why cant I use this other other program... Starting a chain reaction of time wasting questions... So they give a simple blanket answer...
NC - You can not use a third party program in conjunction with Lineage.
It is something that has been brought up on the boards time and time again.

With the current team, this is proably true, when NCA Lin1 had an active staff, they put out fairly direct allouances for certain hardware/software (I'm of corse talking about when I asked if I could use nostromo n52 and they said yes), as long as the program doesn't alter the game client it is allowable (otherwise having vent open, running winamp, having internet explorer open so you can alt tab to it would all be use of a 3rd party programs). A program that runs lineage in a window doesn't alter the game client, and thus would be allowable, although tech support would not give you help with any issues with it (similar to running lineage in windows vista).

Officially -- You can't do it and if they get a wild hair they might ban your account.
Unofficially -- They could care less what you do.
Mac users. Mac users can do
Mac users.
Mac users can do windowed mode and this only applies to people that have more than one account. Why else would you want to run windowed mode?
I suggest you do a search on download sites that allow you to play games in windowed mode.
Hey it's cheaper than getting multiple computers!

I don't run multiple accounts but I use the window mode pretty often, e.g. to check maps while running, use an online dict for translations or similar. Very helpful!
I wouldn't call that a hack, its just helpful but no real advantage in game. Since I've seen what the 'special' client does (not sure if its LinX?) I want some of those features too! Like the detailed exp info panel, the numbers beside each item on the hot key bar and even the nice map feature. I just don't like the design - this can be done much better and nicer.
The Lineage client is totally outdated in my eyes, the scrolling is terrible (especially if you play it first time!), wrong NPC texts and missing infos/features here and there.
Any news about a new client? I remember NC continued the development of a new client last year, since then I haven't heard anything about it...

can't windows peeps just use dual monitors?
i run full screen on the mac with duals. other mon has browser, chat, ts, etc. only prob is you can't type while in full screen in your other apps. so i can still browse the net, check maps, drop tables, change ts channels.
lin in window mode is terrible cause it's native res is like 640x480 so it is so damn tiny on any new big lcd. you can put it at 150% but it only looks more awful that it already is in fullscreen.

I am a mac user and I use windowed-mode to edit emblems while I am logged in to lineage. Its great if I am editing an emblem and just have a few quick edits to proof. I just drop the the updated file, restart and upload in-game.

Years ago, NC told people how to do windowed mode on Lineage, the post was obviously deleted since it's not on the forums anymore. Some PC's could do it at the time, others gave people issues. It was pretty bugged so That why I'm sure its gone now. But illegal? No, not illegal at all on the PC. You can't get banned for it even if you told NC you are running in windowed mode. It was a supported feature(and still is for mac). But I think the best way to get it, if your videocard won't allow the option, or you don't know the original method of doing it released by NC then is yes... 3rd party programs
