This will likely devalue a lot of the over enchanted weapons once it goes live.

OMG You just buy them??? Not good.. Adena farming is going to make a huge come back
However I have allot of stuff that I'm too scared to blow and this is gonna make me go for it.
and if you look at he current price of a bzel on Ken (currently 1.3m - 1.8m) it's not much more for the added benefit of guaranteeing that the item will NOT blow. Talking about armors of course.
And yes Logo is partially right. The overzeled/overdaied items will come down but you have to add in that these will cost almost 3m a pop. That is almost 30m for 10 and you still have 50/50 chance.

For example... you hit your +7 Abowgun and it goes 6. Then cdai and bdai and hope it goes 7 again. Then hit it again with this abdai and hope it goes this time. If it does it goes 8. Then another abdai and it goes 7. And so on, And so on. If you're rich. No problemo. If not then grrrrrr.

Well this is going to make the game very very silly just like the screen shots I've seen from the Korean servers of +14-16 Kaiser weapons etc.

Except for the fact stuff like DKsword and other supposedly rare stuff is way common on US servers, Knights are going to dominate badly. It'd be nice if DE actually had access to their top end weapons since Kaiser isn't that great compared to DKs or knight vald sword etc. Can just imagine those at +10-15 Let alone Bapho staffs.

What if u use this Ancient book on bapho staff and it goes -1. Can you use a regular ndai to make it +0 safely? Or will it still have a chance to go boom. Would suck if it keeps going -1 everytime lol.

I haven't done it but i'm 99% sure that a cdai on a bapho staff has as much chance of blowing it as a ndai

Negative enchantment rates are mirrors of positive enchantment rates.

If you czel a pair of iboots to -4, it will go just fine with no problem. It is not until you attempt to go to -5 that you have a chance to blow it, and the chances are the same as if you were going +4 to +5.

The same holds true for bone items. There is just as much chance of it blowing going -1 as their is going +1.

this book is yet to be on live servers. they are on korean test and has been on test for very long time. they will probably not come to live at current state. at first they made the book to have increased chance to enchant at +9. then they changed their mind and decided to put the -1 factor into it. many players feel that the change is too drastic and will cause players to leave the game. thus, nck still hasn't made their mind up about putting these in live servers.

Without any sort of pitfall to their usage I can see why NCK would be hesitant to add them to the live servers.

However, if they were strictly a test server item then their presense would be perfectly understandable. Afterall, you can't very well test the high-end content with a bunch of barely over-enchanted gear every time the server wipes no?

That being said, I did like the way that RO handled their enchanting system (originally mind you). The enchanting items were rare as all hell, but failing to enchant simply stripped the items of enchant value rather than destroying it outright.

What is this and when does it hit US servers? Is it a spellbook for mages or all classes??
