Hey, I just bought lineage 1, for my mac..(macbook 2 gigs ram) i was wondering, is it supposed to be this chopy? i find the game play is kind of brutal and not at all like the vids i see online... Is it because of the mac client? and how do you run? lol thanks..

You've kinda got two questions going on here...
1. Does the mac client suck?
In short... yes...
The Mac Lineage client is a PowerPC application - so running it on the newer MacBook requires it to emulate the PowerPC processor... Additionally, there are known issues with the character walking and swing speeds on the mac client.
2. How do I run?
Eat haste potions, or braves/wafers/essence/etc.

It sucks on the PPC, too, btw. Just one of the things you have to put up with. Oh, and have someone show you where the taurv loop in Fire Valley is, then (unfortunately) avoid it at all costs...on a mac, its a lag death trap.
I love my macs, but I will freely admit Lineage plays much better on my pc (as long as windoze itself doesn't crap out).

1. Right-Click the Linage application (or CMD+Click)
2. Choose: Show Package Contents
3. Folder: Contents -> Resources -> Sound
4. Rename file '1225.wav' to e.g. 1225_faulty.wav
No more mega lag in middle and upper FV :)

At least I can still PLAY on
At least I can still PLAY on my Mac. I've been trying to install Lineage on a Windows laptop I got through work for about 2 months now.

my laptop also has problems but from what i can tell its probably the video cards fault since it never gets to the first screen...it can connect to server and i can choose the server,, but after that i just get a black screen and then i get a debugging message -.-

One thing: The scrolling in
One thing: The scrolling in Lineage is choppy on all systems, regardless what gfx-card you use - only some morphs make it a little smoother. NC should REALLY change this! If you start playing this game, the choppy scrolling just hurts the eyes.
I mean even back in 90s smooth scrolling was no problem and its really no problem to make it smooth now - just a few more lines of code...
