Well our dream/nightmare (depending on how you look at it) is going to come true! Dep and LOA will merge and Ken will be separate. I figured I would make a post to ask everyone from Dep and LOA where they will go, so that everyone can see where their fellow players are going to end up. I, myself could live with either server, but this is how I feel.
Ken:
*Sieges!!! - Finally we can siege without being hunted in the field or being pined in town by an enemy! The fight stays in the siege zone and pledges will have castles again!
*Less People - (Maybe, Maybe not) Kind of like how Dep is right now. We are at an average of 200-250 players; which include bots and people in shop mode. So hunting areas may be a bit more crowded or stay the same. (Same with bosses)
*New Faces! - I would love to meet new people and kind of start all over with a brand new brunch. Hopefully, with my old dep friends as well :)
*Respect - Seems I have heard that people are not huge mop thieves or anything. Glad to know If someone accidentally hits someones mop a pledge war doesn't start lol. (Which may have happened before, who knows! =P)
Loa/Dep:
*More People - I would guess more people would end up going here. If you war, you'll probably be hunted more than mops. Hunting areas might be guarded by your enemies, etc. I don't know, I like to be able to hunt anywhere I want, I pay $15 to do just that. Some like to trash on global for hours on end and take out their frustrations on others. That's cool, I guess? But um .. to me, this is a game, not an argument on who's mother is fat or who is uglier lol.
*If you enjoy PVP, then obviously you'd go here. Myself, I don't really care for it. Once in a while is nice but I don't like to hunt people down. Getting drops and having bp hunts seems more worthwhile to me.
Hmm.. that's my thoughts about it at the moment. I would like to keep my name so people know who I am, but If I can't, then so be it. I still don't have a concrete decision in this, but Ken sounds best for me.

There isnt much thieving on ken that i can see. seiging will be more fun, new faces are always welcome. there a a little drama on ken now and then. i do wish we could pk bots on ken.... oh well.

Being able to kill anyone,
Being able to kill anyone, anywhere, at any time is one of the things I prize Lineage for as compared to other games. While I haven't been in a big PvP battle for quite some time, the option of retribution exists.
On my very first day, when I went to Talking Island, someone in orc poly was standing by the fence. He said, "Psst. Come here." I walked over to him, and he proceeded to hit me. I was so confused I just stood there and ended. And then I was laughing hysterically.
The following day, someone named HuggieBrian or something tried to do the same thing. But I had caught on.
I can't imagine feeling that little twitch of nervousness when a high-level player is around. I can't imagine not firing a warning shot when someone steals a mop or a drop. Ken? What the hell is that? Sounds like a country club for old men.

I think a merge will be good, will give us more people bigger pledges and might make the game the way it was few years ago before the players left Dep/Ken for Loa.
The More the people in one area the more the spawn. it wont effect the spawn any back when dep had 800+people and FV was just put in game the spawn was great.
Now we Have FI,PI,RV,TOI,TOS,SOE,Abyss Lake,Ele ruines so theres tons of places people can hunt
yet alone theres DVC and FV and all old place that people use to hunt.
(DVC isnt bad Notice all the bots)
Another Bonus is that we can all kill SK8 because he is annoying, and lies how he knows stuff
and dont tell, probly exploits and cheats that he uses. (Ever been jumped while hunting SK8?) *soon*

You cant really make life miserable for sk8 on a non-pvp server..
you can probably grief on fv/fi/di and maybe kill him on sieges.. but if he avoids those areas and hunts in better places, well.. read the first sentence.. if he does goes to those areas, he is expecting a fight to enjoy it..

I divulge plenty of info. =) I also withhold plenty of info. As does nearly everyone else. I can not share info that was given to me by people that dont want it shared... Its a trust issue, trust I wont break.
There are screenshots of my client all over my blog. Please point out all my cheats and exploits I use... So that all can see please! Dont just speculate, slander, and make stuff up... show me the cheats you claim!
Yall act like I stand alone... haha. As if there is not a large group of people standing beside me on my side of the battle field, ready to fight. And we will welcome it. Because as of recently, the Ken server sieges have switched from being heavily one sided one way, to heavily one sided the other way. We could use more people pissed off at me to liven up the other sides numbers. I am used to being target number 1, when it comes to a fight. And the healers and people in my party are used to it to. It is planned for, and parties are structured around it.
You must be one of the people trashing my blog. =)
If you feel I am annoying, I will give you that, because annoyance is in the eye of the beholder... And if you want to hunt me down because of it, then by all means, you are welcome to. =)
But I dont cheat, and I dont lie. Any number of people can contest to that. So dont slander where you dont know.

Question, Where did fracas
Question, Where did fracas say that a server merge WILL happen with any of the servers. I read the Q&A with fracas and I only see that he says "examining consolidating the servers a bit". This does not seem set in stone to me. If he says that Dep and LOA will merge somewhere else someone tell me please.
As far as a possible merge I personally dont think it will bother me much. The only thing that might possibly irk me a little at first is overcrowding but I remember when LOA had more than twice as many people on at any given time as it does currently. I will adjust ^^. In my opnion the more the merrier

As for me i only got 2 low level chars on dep that I can delete without a problem, but my son has 3 and 3 on LoA, so guess he will have to make a choice as to which four (4) he wants to keep.
1. I am to assume that with this server merge, they will only be allowed to keep just four (4) chars in total; right?
2. Also how much warning time are we gona get before this happens?
As I'll need to transfer the bit of stuff I got on Dep to my son's characters for the merger to LoA.
3. Last question is: Just what all can we transfer from Dep to LoA?
a. Meaning if I didnt transfer my 2 chars from dep to LoA, can I transfer my stuff from Dep to my LoA acct w/4 chars; I have there at this time?
4. In the above other postings, it seems to say that if ya didnt want to merge to Dep, they can merge to Ken, is that correct or not? (Cause if ya can do that, then I would just transfer my stuff off of dep to Ken acct instead.)
Fracas, plz advise....I just want a 'clear-clarification of what will be done, so then I know what I will have to do, vs dep's chars and inventory items.

I have already been in
I have already been in discussion with a large group from LOA server that has expressed great interest in that they will be going to Ken server if/when the merge takes place.
This is news that I am happy to hear. I hope more people come as well. Just from the people I have seen express interest in it already, I would expect the Ken population to double. That is a very welcome change. Also, I hope Fracas and team take that information to heart... That a large quantity of people want to come to Ken, and I hope the server merge goes forward because of that. More people on Ken is a welcome and much needed thing in my eyes!
Everyone I have spoken to about it say that they either welcome the idea of more people as a good thing and/or will welcome more people with open arms regardless of the impact on the server.
(As far as speculation, comments, slander about me in this thread... For Roo's sake and the sake of the thread, please keep it out of this thread so that it doesnt go off track... If you hate me, by all means, start a thread dedicated to the hating of Sk8 (Sk8 H8ing 101 for Sk8 H8rs), and express all your concerns at your hearts content, in one easy to discuss location. I've never played Ken, as the idea of non-PVP doesn't float my boat, and I can't post on the official messageboards because I can't get a login.
But I would mention that I don't see people's issue with Sk8. I've read several of his postings. Does he play devil's advocate at times? Sure. But who doesn't? The fun of messageboards is the opportunity to debate and hash out ideas. There's nothing better than reading a well-worded and thought out argument. I think Sk8's good for that.
A good example is the thread about unkillable dragons on the messageboard. He had many valid points.
Anyway, my overall opinion on the server merge issue is likely to be unpopular. I say let's just have one server. I can't imagine the fireworks and power struggles that would come from having a salad of players tossed together. I think it would cut to the heart of what Lineage is meant to be. Pledges might mean something again when new rivalries develop. And perhaps the heart of commerce and activity would fall back to Giran, where I think it should be, instead of having the largest market in Oren as it is on LoA.
Of course, I'd rather have two servers if it means that a lot of people will leave the game. Frankly, I want this game to be around forever--The Simpsons of MMORPGs.

the fight for castles is really gona be interesting to watch/participate in especially since w/ epi6 the castles get revamped w/ a couple of extras like quests,caves,different npc attributes..

Castle fights are going to be more fun on all servers come Episode 6, because each castle will have a reason to be taken other than just the fight for it. So add to that the new players from the merge, and itll only get better. I would agree that if there was going to be no more non-pvp server, I would love to see all of us thrown into one server. And I hate that I will have to miss the fun fights and server drama that will come when Dep merges into LOA. Itll be, probably, one of the most exciting times in Lineage.
Currently, on Ken, the heart of Commerce is still at Giran. But I think that will also change on Episode U... When Gludio gets revamped, itll become the new major hub. The Gludio traders village is already prepared for this. I am not sure if yall have been, but its worth looking around. It is by far the largest, and most decorated and ornate of all the traders villages. It even has wooded/forest areas haha. I was very surprised when I first explored it. Gludio will become very popular, and I assume the traders village will become popular too.
