Why do you play Lineage?

LOL... but you had to get addicted for some reason. :) At least you had to *start* playing for some reason. Maybe.

Yeah addiction would have been my actual reason, and to keep myself out of trouble with the ball n' chain. haha

as i agree w Prominence... addicted :P no game compete w this game tho NC messed it up so badly.

1. Pre-date February 2002: Jan1992-May2002:Was too busy for online games, (owner/operator of a r/l games shop "XanaduCCGS", Books &/or Cards: D&D,Magic,7Seas,Pokemon,etc. (and Ceramic Giftware designer.)
2. Created a acct out of curiousity in Feb.2002. played it a couple hours on weekends, till had more time to devote to it.
3. Closed my shop in or around May 2002 & retired from working a full-time job. Then after about a month, became bored with nothing to do, except there was 'lineage.'
4. So as I got more into the game, I met more players, had conversations with 100's as time flew by ;p
After a while, it seemed I had more friends in the game than Ive ever had in r/l.
Cause if ya ever spoke to any of my high school class mates, they would have told you I was a bit of a loner back then, and still was, cause I rarely got out to mingle, my family was my life, I did what was necessary to provide for them, so they would never be without.
But sometimes things that happen in r/l changes how you live in your own, so to speak.
So after I stopped being the main provider for the family and let my hubby take it over (bad mistake), I finally began to relax more...but although I was finally geting the rest i needed, I became bored with retirement life. (And what didnt help was, that my hubby never allowed me to go anywhere, except fo the doctor, &/or groceries, cause his outlook on life was to stay in front of the tv and watch reruns & tv commercials all the time, and he expected me to do the same.) He basically was alienating me from my local family and friends, by keeping me at home....so the only release from my inhome prison ( I refered to as 'my cage' ) was on the net. Being on the net &/or in a online game was allowed, cause it didnt physically remove my body from the home.
So since I couldnt go anywhere, cause he constantly said my truck was broke down, and he had kept us in the red w/ the bank since he took over the finances, and later on i found out he told the local authorities I was dead, or nuts, so not to listen to whatever i said...I just wrapped myself up in the only thing i had left he would allow me to have: Lineage.

Lineage became my life.
Lin gave me contact with the outside world,
Gave me the friendship ive never really had,
It kept my mind active with reasons to go on,
Basically it gave me a purpose to live.

So the answer I chose above was: "It's my fun, but I also play for the social aspect."

Q: Why didnt I leave?
A: I had kids at home, what would happen to them if I left?
Q: Is he still there?
A: NO. He abandoned me almost 4 yrs ago, and moved to Michigan.
Since then, Ive got my own home & my own income to support my kids & I with.
