Actually, the non-quest ones

Actually, the non-quest ones are fairly well balanced with a suitably strong penalty attached to them to offset the stat improvements. I would put them on par with the event earrings that most people already have (though the 3rd strength one would need another point added to ac penalty). The 60/70 ones however...are another story.

That being said, if this were to done with the Int stat, the counter stat would have to be very carefully weighed. The int stat has an impact of FAR greater returns than any other stat in Lineage (many many times greater in fact). The only really strong counter stat to +Int is a reduction in mp regeneration (something that Fracas goobered on with the Int t-shirts from the event).

And Fantasma...Dawg has a bad habit of adding his 2 cents without reading a post in its entirety (and of equal imporance, digesting and understanding it). Chances are he ignored that 1/2 of the stats on these things were penalties and not bonuses. That or the post didn't indicate it and he didn't realize that was the intention of them. I will say that I definitely agree with him about the last two. Those are some pretty beefy items and would require some pretty obscene investment to acquire (similar to the top-end karma earrings).

All that being said, I would like to see some more diversity in earring choices. As it stands most people only have one choice (and a handful of determined folks have "two" for a few points of ac). I would love to pick up some elemental resist earrings. No MR ones though. The game has made it entirely too easy for the "magically vulnerable" classes to become virtually immune. Making it any easier would be a very very bad decision. (and yes I get where Sk8 is coming from in this area, but that's still too easy if you ask me, but we can agree to disagree).

adding my 2 cents without reading a post entirely? Don't comment bout me unless you actually know me and how I am. I saw the bonuses and penalties, it's way unbalanced. We are getting stat earrings later anyways. -a few hp won't make any diff, or ac... if anything, needs to be a greater penalty. Like stat points

I know EXACTLY how you are (you speak volumes about yourself all the time), but that's a matter for some place else. As for "balanced" I think we can safely say neither of us are in any position to say what is or isn't really balanced till its been tested. Berserk is "perfectly" balanced at +5 damage for 10 ac and a generally insignificant loss to hp regen...not unlike what most of these items are offering.
