I am a lvl 50 mage, *usually* hunts 51f+, and i'm wondering what i should do for long-run stats. base stats now are: 440mp base, 370hp base, no AS yet ( :()17 int (elixer event), 18wis, 18con, 8cha. have int ammy, int book (i have an eye of varlok, just gonna wait to turn it in), int shirt. also sea cloak, cha ammy, jet-black ball for ++cha.
ok, first question. I think i want to become a cougar mage. what is the lvl (72, right?), and what is the cha requirement to summon it? i heard that it has to be 32cha with items, but i don't know if this is true...could someone tell me what it actually is?
also, someone mentioned needing a 'cougar ammy' to be able to summon???? supposedly crafted with a Cougar Pelt + Cougar claw/fang/whatever....but i've never heard of a cougar ammy.
to get myself to 25cha base by 72, i believe i need to start adding cha with my lvl 56-stat bonus, right? anyway, what should i do with my 5 stats from 51-55? i'm thinking i should do +5int, but i'm also considering +2wis +3int, to get alil more mp in the long run, as well as regen/MR. Which would be best to go for?
related to the last question, what exactly does each + to wis after 18wis do? for lvl-ups as well as for MR and base regen/manapot regen? i know that 18wis i can range from 6-12mp/lvl (but no odd numbers), but if i add +2wis, will that range become 8-14? or will it only be 6-14?
ok, different topic. lvling spots? i can get 1%/hr on 53f (54f/58f seems too hairy to deal with right now...), and 1.3%/hr if i don't use HW all the time w/ bapho. i have also tried lastabad 2f "super" spot...kinda sux for me though. only like .6%/hr there at best, even with only 3 other of mages in line (i did use +1sp staff and wis pot, but i'm guessing i just don't have enough mp or damage output yet). what lvl/int/SP/mp is good to have for there? and are there other spots for me now or in the future?
finally, any gear advice? i have a limited budget for now, but i can probably get 100-150m by selling buncha my junk, and then -70m for a 51f charm...so i'll be left with 30-80m to play with. anyway, i currently have a-robe, +5homr/+5NKhelm, +3 mana cloak (i know, bzel...), +3 demon boots, +3 ice-spirit gloves/+5PG, any belt, any ring cept rotc or the useless rings, aaand...that's it.

2. You just need all the cha items ingame + 25base cha to get cougar.. you dont NEED to have 25 cha by lvl 72.. you can be 73 74 75 76 77 78 to get cougar..
3. Get a 5x charm, you wont regret it, the sooner you get one, the sooner it pays off (less dieing too since you wont feel like ur wasting a scroll by teleporting)
4. If you are determined enough, add to 24 wis first, but if u hate failing alot, add int. (but i belive 22 int is all u need to tu at a constantly good rate, but hey, i still fail with 25 int..just not 500mp worth as i used to when i was like lvl 49 lol
5. if you plan to lvl on 5x, the spells u need is TU, lesser heal,fullheal, adv, holywalk, decrease weight, ghaste, (mana drain when u get better int). (i barely use AB even though i have it on 5x, i just tele cause i have charm~)
6. get an obelt. ur hunts will last longer cause u can carry more junk =)
but a shiny belt of mind also good for the +1mp regen and 50mp bonus, what ever you like~

You dont even have to be level 72. The ONLY set requirements are the charisma to summon it, and being a mage. If you have the char, you can summon it, even if you manage to do it by level 65...

Based on the summon window,
Based on the summon window, it just says 'Special Summons'.
Where as for Direbears, it actually lists them by level.

That is because they would be a horrible mage if they had... In order to do it pre level 72 you have to have horrible horrible stats... And would end up with a completely JUNK cougar mage... Which would be no point in even having a cougar because the mage controlling it is junk...
(Would have to start with more than the base 8 charisma... which would mean no con, no wis, no int... no hp, no mp, no regen, no carry capacity, no int, no mr....)
I base this on having seen a mage (claiming to be level 66, so its all I could go from is to assume he isnt lying) with a dopple summon... which is supposed to be level 68 summon.

Belive thier was a mage
Belive thier was a mage named Oreo who was a 52+ max cha mage.
he doesnt play now(well that i know of), but he was pretty rocking w/ all his dire wolves.
and if you dont fight and just hunt w/ the mage, its a pretty good money maker. for solo players.
youd be able to get max cha at lvl 55.
That is very tempting if it is actually possible.
But i would rather get my mage to higher lvl(post72) and get a cougar :P

I also remember Piona posting in LinUncensored when these summons were being introduced that Doppel summon requires level 68 + 30(+6) Cha when Cougar requires mage to be lvl 72 and 34 (+6) Cha. But I haven't really confirmed this, so maybe someone knows better.
But basically Cougar mage currently has to have 25 base char and items giving maximum charisma to be able to summon the kitty. I would not mind if they'd add some Cha items tho :P
