Taming Dire bears?

Is this difficult for a 49 elf with 14 int (with ammy). I want to be able to hunt RV with out shooting myslef in the head. I have to move so slow solo it is very tedious.

I don't think 14int does anything over 12int on elf..need 15 for the next bonus. With 19int elf you can easily tame cyclops or basi or cockatrice
