Boss Soloability

I'm thinking of beginning my foray into the world of boss hunting, as I have been acquiring better and better gear. I'm hoping that some of you might take a moment to post up a hierarchy of bosses that he or she has hunted with one being the easiest, two being second easiest, and so forth.

Thanks.

Zenith queen being easiest. Mainland bosses being 2nd easest
all the other toi bosses being harder (just cause of the rush of things at times)
Dragons being hardest :P

If your going to try solo.

If your going to try solo. Try Iffy"Not really a boss" Drake ZQ Garundar things like that.

So does this seem like an

So does this seem like an accurate hierarchy?

1. Ifrit
2. Zenith Queen
3. Drake
4. Dark Elder
5. Elindaire
6. Doppleganger Boss
7. Revenant
8. Seer
9. Garundar
10. Baphomet
11. Caspa Group
12. Krieg
13. Beleth
14. Faruuk

Am I completely off? Are there other bosses that can be soloed? Are some of the ones I listed not soloable.

Boss difficulty is entirely

Boss difficulty is entirely based on the party and skill level of the party members.
What may seem easy to one person or group, will be harder for another.

These are basic generalizations and some is debatable based on the factors above.

TOI Bosses:

ZQ = Solo by any class level 48 up if they are skilled. Cake walk for any 50+ that barely knows what to do...

Seer = Solo by organized 50+ tank/elf. Not sure on Mage, probably can do at 50, maybe not till higher int.
Otherwise easy to mild difficulty small party of 2-3 people.

Vamp = Solo by organized and skilled elf or tank that knows how to do it. Solo by 52+ mage.
Easy for small group. Not possible for a low to mid level tank to melee him w/o ith and a healer. Small group of elves drop him in seconds.

ZL = Solo by 52-55+ tank/mage. Solo (but hard) for a 52-55+ elf.
Easy for small group 2-3 people.

Cougar = Solo by 60+ mage. No tank can solo tank w/o ith. Easy for small party, ith is important.

ML = Anywhere from easy to difficult for a party of 2+ people. 60+ mage can solo. Ith required for anyone to tank it.

Iris = Anywhere from easy to difficult for a party of 2+ people. 60+ mage can solo.

KV = Generally difficult battle to expect. Most important part is knowing who is going to do what role prior to the start of the fight. 60+ mage can solo. 60+ DE can solo tank without ith with a healer (not solo). As a 57 knight I can not solo tank KV with only one low to mid level healer. I do not do enough damage. I can not do it in a party of 2, but I can do it in pretty much any party of 3. However there are people of my level that can do it with only two people.

Lich = I have been soloing since level 54 (knight) Any tank can do the same with the right gear. He has never once killed me (except one time that I dc'd right as I engaged him). High int Mage can solo. High level skilled elf with the right supplies/consumables on hand can solo. Easy for any party of 2 people (that are high enough level to even make it there.) Ith is not needed.

Grim = Some mages can solo with the right summons and int. I know cougar mages do it.
High level skilled party to kill. Two 60-65+ can do it (mage required). Three 55-65 can do it. Ith is required. Expect a lengthy battle.

Main Land Bosses:

In order of difficulty.
Demon - Never tried completely solo so cant say if doable... I can solo tank with a healer.
AQ - Never solod personally but I know a good 55+ tank can.
DK - I was not able to solo last time I tried.
Pho - soloable by a 55+ good tank
IQ - soloable by a 52+ tank
Baph/Bel - soloable by a 52+ tank

But again, it depends on the party. And no, I dont mean the level of the party members, because some 60+ are not as good as some 52 I know, so level isnt everything. Some of the above are easy easy for me and my team, where as another team may find it MUCH more difficult.
Its all practice, and checking them.

The most important thing about boss hunting (and should be the most obvious.)

If you never check bosses, if you never go looking for bosses, if you dont spend your time running up TOI floors checking bosses over and over and NOT find them... Then you can never complain about checking them once and them not being there. You can never complain about not killing any bosses, if you dont go looking for them to kill.

You have to check bosses to kill them... There are days I spend hours checking and find nothing. Days I spend 1hr checking and find 3. You have to have the bad days in order to expect the good days.

I left out a few bosses such

I left out a few bosses such as Faruuk and other LOA bosses. All of them are easy to solo for me.

1. What is ith? 2. Let's say

1. What is ith?

2. Let's say I start with Zenith Queen and I'm a CON Knight level 48. What weapon and AC do you view as minimal to get the job done?

3. What do I bring Pots-wise? Orange? Clear? Condensed? How many?

1) Immune to harm. Mage

1) Immune to harm. Mage spell level 7. Cuts damage received in half.

2) MR > AC in nearly all boss cases. I wear MR full time on my knight. ZQ's strongest attacks are magical.
Should be able to take her down with -50 to -60 ac, +8-9bkat/nkat, 70-80%mr and about 100 a-ojs.

For comparison, I would take her down with -61ac 98%mr +9maph ret and it would take me about 10-15 seconds and about 15 potions....

Get her alone. Always get bosses alone to take them on.

3) I use Ancient OJs on everything. Its the only potion I ever carry. (Occasionally I use some A-Clears for higher 91+flr toi and Grim Reaper)

I am sorry but there is no

I am sorry but there is no way 60+ mage can solo Iris or Mummy Lord easily. I am 100% sure those 2 bosses can't be blinded, so you can't take them down the easy way.

The only way it could be possible would be to drag the Boss around while timing you atk so you get enought mp to regularly cast a spell so you keep agro AND make sure your summons stay 3 cells away from it.

That trick might work for Mummy Lord since he doens't have a range atk, but you will probly need more than 1000mp to do it (1 lvl 60+ mage + 1 lvl 52+ mage could barely do it with all their mp and the summons lived all that time). But there is no way tht could work for Iris. Why? Because she has an area atk and she will ALWAYS turn on summons once they hit her. And her tornado hurts like hell (3 casts end a dire bear). So doing enought magical atk to counter her hp regen and using mp to heal you summons will just drain all your mp w/o being even close to end her.

Skill isn't the only factor here, luck gotta be put into the equation too.

I know multiple mages that

I know multiple mages that solo Iris. They can, but usually call a second mage for ML to not risk death.

And they always complain about the boss despawning mid fight because that is what happens to blinded bosses.

How do you get Immune to

How do you get Immune to Harm on your knight? Double-boxing? I don't have that option.

Is it possible to solo these bosses without Immune or double-boxing?

LoA

the fact your on loa just

Prominence's picture

the fact your on loa just made it 5~10x more difficult in finding a boss since the average lifespan of a boss is like 1minute max.. if u arnt at the right spot at the right time, you will never know it was even up.

I have been on 50f many times during boss time for the full time, never seeing cougar.

..:: My Blog ::..

I don't mind the crowd.

I don't mind the crowd. It's actually one of the reasons I chose to move to LoA from Dep in the first place. Sure, there are disadvantages. But there are many advantages as well.

Anyway, I have a feeling there are a few that are less camped than others that I have as good a chance as any other person to find and fight.

when you get a boss drop,

Prominence's picture

when you get a boss drop, you can actually sell it rather then put it in ur storage.

..:: ReAnimated Blog ::.. Last Update M23

depends what the item is,

FieldsOfLove's picture

depends what the item is, but if its rare and useful, its sold instantly or used.

as far as HOD's. since nc (upped the drop for us/nerfed for u guys) We have a few... but thats what the bots and farmers up there are for haha....

More people hunting and

Chryses's picture

More people hunting and killing more mops results in more things dropping across the server. That means a higher server population will inevitably result in more rare high end items being available.

Example ... 100 people hunting lesser dragons will inject more heart of dragon into the economy than will 10 people hunting lesser dragons. It might not mean much to the price because it is offset by the fact that you are also competing with more people to buy it, but at least they are available.

That only counts for

That only counts for not-boss monsters. Cuz even if DEP and KEN server have less ppl on them, i'm pretty sure bosses gets killed as often as they are on LOA. Some said bosses are up for an average of 1 min before they get killed on LOA, well I can tell you it's about the same thing on DEP. Many, many, many players are mostly there only for bosses.

So, what you stated for lesser dragons is real, but not for drops that only comes from bosses. Those drop would/should be more expensive on a server that has a higher population

If you want to warm up to

If you want to warm up to boss hunting there are 2-ish interim steps to get used to what you'll be facing from bosses: Ifrit and Drakes. If either of these two give you a bit of trouble solo, you aren't ready for real bosses yet. They are good gauges of both your damage output and your durability, two traits that are key to boss hunting (especially solo).

Wait...What??

Yes Demon is soloable with

ZWarlordZ and Elf15's picture

Yes Demon is soloable with ith i could do it since my DE was lvl 55,w/o ith and all the spawn and summons he makes i dont think you could tank it all unless you had very very high mr.
Injection when he was lvl 65 used Ancient clears and killed cougar w/o ith solo, but it was a no-hasted one at that.

I've killed Caspa group when

I've killed Caspa group when I was level 48 DE. It was really easy, so is Iffy, drake and dark elder. I tried to solo Death Knight once when I was level 52, and I got owned in 5 hits.

SvatCat's picture

Well this seems to a nice post. The list given here is gud but I would say DoppleGanger Boss isnt worth to b at the 6th place. I would say he is the easiest I have evr killd more than 5 times. I would nvr consider him a boss. U can call him a mini boss. He must go to the 1st place mayb r 0 -1 some place like tat lol. He is nt worth the time.

Happy Hunting!!

That thing has crazy hp

That thing has crazy hp regen. I tried once with 2 elves and me using bapho staff and ust couldn't do it.... Btw, I can solo any lesser bosses with my bapho staff alone, so i think he's worth his title of 'Boss'

lich is about as difficult a

FieldsOfLove's picture

lich is about as difficult a croc or ifrit...

Dont confuse people, that is

Dont confuse people, that is not true.

Got Blog?

to get to lich is one thing.

FieldsOfLove's picture

to get to lich is one thing. killing lich, yes. its very true. even before loa rules he was easy. loa rules... jesus..

--- Lich is about as

--- Lich is about as difficult as Croc or Ifrit---

Simply not true...

Croc takes 0 pots and dies in 10 hits.

Ifrit takes a handful of pots and dies 20-30 hits

Lich takes over 100 pots, and dies in over 50hits.

Yes, Lich is EASY. The battle with him is not hard, and he has never once killed me... But to say that Lich is as easy as Croc or as easy as Ifrit is simply not true.

These people are looking for real information about boss strength... not inaccurate comparisons. If he was truly as easy as Croc, I could engage him with 0 pots and win the battle. Which is not even close to accurate.

He is more accurately compared to a Hasted DI Wind Spirit (decent damage output that Aojs keep up with), that takes a little longer to kill.

Got Blog?

"Lich takes over 100 pots,

FieldsOfLove's picture

"Lich takes over 100 pots, and dies in over 50hits"... I've killed him many times in less than 30secs.... With a mage using no pots, solo using maybe 50? If that. It's not untrue or inaccurate. getting there is the key and maybe a lil higher lvl :).

Hell, the first Time I killed him with my friend, he died in 5-10 seconds.

Great comparison

Great comparison Fields...
Comparing Croc difficulty solo to the difficulty of killing Lich with a team of people...

Thats like telling me that because a group of 10 people can drop Grim Reaper in 10 seconds with no pots used that he is as hard as Elindaire because she takes 10seconds to kill solo. (Same time frame to kill, same pots used, must be the same strength)

Yes... Obviously it takes 0 pots to kill Lich when you have a mage healing you. And obviously the battle goes faster and easier when you have multiple people there.
Would you take that same mage to Croc to keep you alive while you fight him? Would you bring that team of people to fight Ifrit?

Got Blog?

who said anything bout a

FieldsOfLove's picture

who said anything bout a team of people or multiple people? Jesus christ.. I said "my friend". solo or with my mage, ends bout same speed. dies before immune runs out. with another knight, or meleer. it dies in 5-10secs flat. So... nice reading skills? And the comparison is based on his extremely low hp and damage he deals. For being the 90f boss he is pretty close to the weakest boss in TOI, and croc would pretty much be the weakest boss on the ML... But I can see how you fail to see the comparison. You talk before you think as usual smart guy. please learn to read. i don't want to go through this with you again like usual. it gets old fast.

Sorry fields, but there is

Sorry fields, but there is no accurate comparison in boss strength between Lich and Croc. I dont care how you word it, there is no correlation.

Lich is considerably stronger than Croc and Ifrit, plain and simple. No matter how you slice it, that will not change.

Here, everyone can see that for themselves.

Dont' worry about it Sk8. I

Dont' worry about it Sk8. I don't think anyone really takes Fields seriously. He...exaggerates...extensively. Not that I've got anything against Fields, he definitely has some pretty extensive knowledge, and he provides an interesting if somewhat "rose-colored" perspective on things.

For reference, I've had my fastest drake kill timed at about 10-12 seconds (ie at about 100 damage per second or more), and they are VERY weak to the fire damage that I deal quite heavily and extensively...Lich has more than 2x the hp and MR. Only a high level full int mage going full bore spell casting can kill a drake faster than me (well substantially enough that it is easily noticed). I've had kills that felt even faster than that, but they weren't timed so I really have no idea how long it actually was.

So unless you are somehow suggesting that you deal about 100 damage per swing I doubt your sense of time, in any form, is accurate Fields...for any class (including mage). In short, come on back down to reality so we can have a chat.

Wait...What??

exaggerate? you obviously

FieldsOfLove's picture

exaggerate? you obviously never fight lich then. going from experience. and since loa came out, lich's hp is not 2700..

But since you wanna look like a moron on here. lets get technical. How many swings do you think a lvl 55+ char can get off in a second, or a minute. using haste/brave? I don't even know the numbers anymore but if I remember correctly it was a around 90-110?? Give or take? Lets go by the old lich.

In 90 swings, all you have to average is 30damage a swing to get to 2700, but then add the hp regen from lich and it will add a few more swings. At 110 swings u need 25 damage a swing to get there in a minute.... Fully buffed off my char alone, without weapon or weapon bonus against lich. I would do 22 damage a swing. Now add my weapon I would be doing 33-47 per hit.... Now add the bonus, YES UNDEAD cause lich is undead. whether its 1-20, or 2x(honestly I think its 2x). 58-72 damage PER swing. And thats my royal. That's not even my knight which is way more.... Now doing 57-72 damage per swing to get to 2700hp(which isn't lich's new hp... it should be lower) takes 38 - 47 swings... Which btw, adds to over 100hp a second and add a few swings on top of that for regen and ur covered... And by my calculations... would be right at 30seconds, or a tad above. depends what kind of rolls u get I guess. And the weapon I use. I do believe it has nice hidden bonuses as well :). But I can't prove that. But by all the tests I've done... It's definately there :)

Now because you use the wrong weapon or put your stats in the wrong area, don't disagree cause you can't do it when it's already been done.

But your right, no one takes me serious... thats why I get asked for advise about everything in and out of game. Don't make assumptions cause you don't like me, you wanna say something, bring proof like me. But you can't. So when you decide to get a brain, please comment.

And why would a knight use a bow against any boss? Your damage will nearly be halfed..or will be because of it. The 2 of you together would be equal to 1 knight soloing it unless he/she is spamming triple arrow.

Lich is undead, but is not

Lich is undead, but is not weak to silver/ori/mith like other undead monsters. He resists the undead weakness (same as Grim, same as Tarak). I have tested it, because I too thought that at one point. But bkat outperformed sls, which wouldnt be possible if he was undead.

All sites I read put Lich's HP at 6000, not 2700. With a regen at 250hp every 5 seconds. Is it possible that these numbers are different on our servers? Yes, much is altered here. But where do you get 2700 from? Lineagedb? Lineagedb also says its demon type, do you believe that? Take a look at all the images attached to Lich's drop data on Lineagedb... Let me know what you see.

For the record, I dont believe the 6000 either. It feels like its either the 6000 with no regen, or around the 2700 (no idea where that number came from tho) with the 250/5sec regen.

I am curious also, how you are able to 'accurately' calculate the damage you do per swing to a monster... yet you did not even begin to factor in the monsters -75ac into the equation. I would like to see your formula for factoring that in to your '57-72' damage per swing.

Ive killed dozens and dozens of Lich, 95% of them completely solo. (My blog clearly illustrates that) And nothing about your time frame adds up to what I have seen in my wealth of experience with him. When I first started doing it at level 54 it took over 1.5minutes. Its down to around a minute now with the same weapon as then because I almost never miss now. And it was around 45-50 seconds with my +9ret. I also know that a DE using +9kedo took around 40 seconds to kill it solo, on a regular basis. You put out more damage than a DE with a 9kedo?

Why would a knight use a bow on a boss? Dont assume its for no reason.

The video you saw was started about 1/3 of the way into the battle, and played at 2x speed. That battle lasted around a minute. The first 1/3 you dont see was the unloading of most of the TA's. But more importantly what you can see in that video is not the time frame, its the damage the tanker receives. Does that look like damage that Croc or Ifrit would do? Not even Ifrit on Crack could put out that damage against 100%mr.

The last 10 or so Lich I killed with Thorrin I tanked, and he stood back from a far... All of which did not drop charm. He blamed me for being a bad luck tank. That time he wanted to tank it, so I used a bow to stay out of range. High level knights put out great damage with bows btw, thanks to all the dex we add. You should know that.

Lich is not hard skin, and Thorrin has great gear/weapon. He puts out nearly the damage I do in melee, add in my extra arrows, and I would say yes we easily, easily put out more DPS together in bow than I would solo in melee.
Ohhhh and add to that, the fact that you 'claim' Lich is weak to silver/mith/ori... We were both using mith arrows, would that not have bumped the damage up even further and further above what I do in melee?

Undead bonus is 1-20, not 2x....

Yes, I believe you that Lich can and many times does take less than 30 seconds to kill. If and when you have multiple people there doing extensive damage.
I also believe you that your famed weapon puts out great damage (+10Silver Axe right?) at at least 3 more damage per swing over my 9bkat. Its also getting a huge nerf soon, so enjoy it while you can.

You make these claims to try and make yourself seem stronger and better than your average Lineage player. I am your average Lineage player, and I dont buy it. But thats just one mans opinion vs another's.

Got Blog?

What claims? Cause people

FieldsOfLove's picture

What claims? Cause people can do it and you can't means its a claim? And nerf or not on the axe. It will most likely still dominate as a boss weapon anyday, and How do you know its 1-20 damage and not 2x? Since I've never heard a official word from NCK or NCA, And from my tests between a lot of mith and silver weapons. I'm 100% sure silver is 2x. But you should test out a high enchanted silver axe and then tell me what you think. I'm sure you would agree with me :)

What gear is this elf using to even remotely match a melee person? Between all the buffs in the game... That's not even possible to compare damage between a knight that melees and a elf with a bow. unless that elf has +10 kbow or something... And high dex on a knight using a bow still does pathetic damage. Hence why I never use a bow anymore, especially with brave aura in the game, I deal close to 2x more a hit using a melee weapon over a bow with almost no buffs...

Preloa lich's hp could of been 6000...but he still died pretty damn fast. Loa nerfed him greatly. And I don't think its just a coincidence I happen to run into him and kill him so fast due to someone venzing from him right before I run onto the screen.

LineageDb is wrong about a lot of information but going by experience and tests. And those numbers I'm sure came from NC from one time or another, and its on Lineagedb... So Not sure how you got so lost in that area... Your ret will get nerfed as well so why so happy? I still have a back up weapon that does ALMOST the same amount of damage with no swing nerf.... It's just breakable ><.. And grim not taking undead damage would be a new one on me... o.O, he used too, didn't know he got nerfed in that department.

But your deal with the de with the 9kedo, I'm sure I'll out damage him on most bosses/undead bosses and will definately tear him up hunting tos anyday, Only way He'd out damage me is if he gets crit after crits backing him up. But I'll leave you with this to think about since no one else has ever answered it and I'm pretty sure of the answer. The outer Tos priests have 500hp.(according to NC's info given to Lindb). How is it possible to kill them in 2 hits melee? This isn't a one time thing, and it happens quite often to me.

Sorry for jumpin around so much :)

oh, forgot to mention. The

FieldsOfLove's picture

oh, forgot to mention. The axe nerf in next episode isn't going to be that bad at all... It's not going to be anything like a 2hs right now, and 2hs are supposed to be getting increased speed as well...

The swing speed nerf on axes

The swing speed nerf on axes will take them to 75% of their current swing speed. (Which means 3 swings for every 4 you do now... Or a 25% reduction in your damage output without any compensation.) Not that bad? It was bad enough for me to warrant never picking up an axe again.

The swing speed of two handed swords will be bumped up to 75% of the current one handed swing speed. Which brings them to 150% of the current two handed sword speed.

I had a +8silver axe that I tested for a while, I did like it, but I dont like +8weapons. So it went boom trying for +9 and I didnt bother making another. Why? Because I could not justify spending money to build a weapon that will be nerfed and drop in value considerably in the near future. Specially considering it is heavy, and has limited viable uses. (TOS and a few bosses) which makes it not worth carrying around.

Yes, Ret will become a shell of its current self soon as well. That is why I sold it off a month ago before the market on them bottoms out after the nerf. It was single handedly the best weapon I have ever swung and I miss it every day. I hope to god that that nerf is skipped and I can one day buy back my Ret. I would sell off my DK sword in a heart beat to do so.

Oh and Yes, thanks to TA, the elf in the video puts out more DPS than I do in melee.

The best way to test the 1-20 is a +0 silver sword on weak undeads like a skeleton, in the hands of a low level mage with no buffs, wearing a str ammy and some pgs (zero character damage bonus so its all the weapon) . If it only doubled the damage it will still take many hits to kill a skeleton (because double of 4 damage is only 8 damage) If it adds 1-20, then itll average not 8 damage, but closer to 14 damage... Which would be a noticeable difference on that same skeleton, pretty much cutting your needed hits in half. (note: that is landed hits, not swings)

Its entirely possible that certain weapons have hidden attributes, such as the silver axe doing double damage (where other undead weapons do not,) maybe because its a huge axe. Btw... Your damage calculation put you at at most 72 damage per hit with your axe... Double that and you are still not anywhere near the 250 it would take to do 500hp in two hits. And thats before calculating in the AC reduction. Not to mention doing it two hits in a row. All the other sites I read put the followers HP lower than the 500 lindb says (250-375), that could explain what you see happening with your axe. You are putting out big damage, just not as big as you think you are. Lindb also says that the followers outside tos are not weak to silver... and we all know the truth to that.
Another thing to consider is that nearly every creature in TOS has anywhere from 2 to 4 damage reduction (similar to FTS or Reduc Armor.)

LinDB is reliable for quests, and some generic drop data. (For example, itll show you a good spot to hunt for nscrolls and other common/uncommon drops. It starts to fade at the rarer end of the spectrum...) It has decent data on stats, up to a point. Its got decent item stat data, for older items. Its great for crafting requirements of older stuff (specifically elf items,) and its got wonderful maps. Beyond that I would use it only as a general reference, and not as the lineage bible. There are many other sites out there if you dont mind plugging around a site that you cant read because most of it is in a different language, that have more reliable specific data. Because NCK, NCJ, and NCC, all have been more forthcoming with information about the game because they actually know it.

"The best way to test the

FieldsOfLove's picture

"The best way to test the 1-20 is a +0 silver sword on weak undeads like a skeleton, in the hands of a low level mage with no buffs, wearing a str ammy and some pgs (zero character damage bonus so its all the weapon) . (note: that is landed hits, not swings)"

I agree with you on that method... But more than just a silver sword needs to be tested...

"Its entirely possible that certain weapons have hidden attributes, such as the silver axe doing double damage (where other undead weapons do not,) maybe because its a huge axe."

I agree with you again. And I read that when the nerf to speed on 2h swords and stuff were implemented that they got a "crit" added to them like a claw/edo to "balance" the change. But not as effective as claw/edo. And I think it was also added to axes as well or any really heavy weapon. For the classes that can use it, silver axe IS the best TOS hunter, and probably the best boss hunting weap in game. Between undead bosses, large mop bosses, and the factor of no whetstones needed... It's pretty nice.

That island boss event I used my silver axe the whole time killing every boss pretty damn fast being solo... When I used my friend's 65+ mage with 2 dire bears... I tore it up... The outer tos followers... I end in 2 hits quite a few times in a hunt. And when using my crimson lance, it takes me atleast 4 hits to end them.... almost same damage going by stats...

Also... what makes me think

FieldsOfLove's picture

Also... what makes me think its 2x not 1-20.... a sls and rap are actually pretty close in small mop damage... hunting 34+, its very noticable that rap kills atleast 2-3 swings faster than a sls... its only a max of 3 damage difference.

ZQ does more dmg with her

Anju's picture

ZQ does more dmg with her posion the Lich does.

Sorry I would say ZQ is harder the Lich

Lich is a joke and if I use 30 pots as a 62 de at the time I was upset I wasted more pots then normal.

Before LOA it would take over 100 pots and some luck with A- pots too.

now its 30 pots 50 if Its hasted

Just like some1 said

Just like some1 said earlier, difficulty of a boss strongly depends on what class/gear you have. For example, as a mage I find that most Bosses with area atk are much stronger than those only using melee atk on 1 player.

All I can suggest is that you keep trying to get to more bosses, so you can get more experience at killing them (or at least not dying to them. Tarak was such a pain for us the first few times we tried to kill him, but now he's just a walk in the park for Anju and I :p

To Field :

It's true that Lich is easy, but there is no way he's weaker than a Croco (or comparable(sp?) strengh). Ppl say you exagerate cuz  are a little.  Being able to face it would be good of you.  And just to prove you were wrong to say that Lich is as easy as Croco, let me telling you a personal story. Since my character has kinda low mp, I wasn't able to solo Lich exept with many v-touch scrolls. But at that time, I was (of course) able to solo Croco with only 1 cast, I was able to 1 shot him with destroy :p (Croco is lvl 30 and Lich lvl 50, or about that). So I think we can safely say that Croco is MUCH weaker than Lich.

Being strong and having good gear doesn't put all the weak bosses to the same lvl, they just 'look' as easy for you. Being able to reconnize that would help to create a realistic list.

was just doing a

FieldsOfLove's picture

was just doing a comparision(sp) between weakest boss on ML to weakest boss in TOI. But yah, with badass gear and lvl, any boss is pretty easy

My elf on test could solo

PyroAmos's picture

My elf on test could solo zq, seer and vamp, but couldn't solo lich with 2x the aoj i bring to seer/vamp... he is significantly harder than the lower toi bosses, and any of the half-bosses on mainland (drake, iffy, dark elder ect)

That is a level 48 elf

That is a level 48 elf people... Can kill Seer, can kill Vamp, can kill ZQ, all solo... But cant even come close to killing Lich. (My level 48 knight on test has the same results)

But wait, Lich is as hard as ZQ they say? Lich is easier than ZQ they say?

You guys are making a fool out of yourself trying to prove either of those to be true...

He said ZQ's damage is more

FieldsOfLove's picture

He said ZQ's damage is more than Lich's. And I've know a few 45+ knight's that have killed lich.

ZQ hits much weaker than

PyroAmos's picture

ZQ hits much weaker than lich, 1v1 ZQ pump aoj about 50% time rest of time full HP, lich pump AOJ 90% of the time.

Anju was referring to the

FieldsOfLove's picture

Anju was referring to the poison att of ZQ. Says it was more than Lich. I don't see much of a difference..

that said though, he is

PyroAmos's picture

that said though, he is easier than iris or KV.... 4 of us lv45~48 couldn't kill iris, but all i need to kill lich is a mage to immune and keep firewall up.

good thread. looks fairly

good thread. looks fairly accurate from the bosses i remember. i use to solo zg a ton at lvl 49/50 but i think that was before the buffed him. ifrit, caspa, necro, drake all pretty easy to take on.

do all tanks wear full mr now? is it all about the different mr sets?

Its all about MR these days.

Its all about MR these days.

As an avid boss hunter myself, I am in full MR gear 95% of the time (8cmomr/homr/comr) and the other 5% of the time the cmomr is swapped out for an anth armor for the AC.

I dont own an AC cloak(COP), or a RK set anymore, they never got used because MR was way more important.

Most hunting areas will require at least 50%, sometimes 70% mr to avoid certain status effects.

And if you decide to go into a siege or pvp with AC gear on you will flop fast.

until 100mr, 10mr is better

PyroAmos's picture

until 100mr, 10mr is better than 30 elemental resist.

and MR is important for many bosses, but for camping logjevity, AC can often be better (like if your camping seer, just carry counter magic spellscrolls, and don't worry about the MR), and your stay time on the floor between pot runs will increase alot (as long as you have over 50mr so you don't get paralized) of corse theres beholders weakness debuff that can get on you if your under 90 or so mr, but, its a toss up get debuff once in a while and kill a little slower or use 25% more pots.

don't try vamp under lvl 55,

PyroAmos's picture

don't try vamp under lvl 55, and even then, he is very very hard unless you use bow.... you will burn a ton of CM scrolls as all his attacks are magic, and you have to CM every one so he doesn't VT his HP back.... 1 VT and he just regained 150~250 hp, and he will chain VT 2-3 times a second when he gets low hp.... by far one of if not the hardest boss to solo with melee, even with a healer...

DK also VTs, but his VT only takes back like 50~100 hp, and he does it less, so it is a little easier to out-dmg it, although it is still fairly dificult to 1v1 DK as melee.

I just add new post cuz the

Anju's picture

I just add new post cuz the ZQ vs Lich sub thread is looking a tad bit funky!

Yes I  mean ZQ posion does more dmg then Lich does.

For lich I use maybe 30 ojs and ZQ maybe 10. Still I have more iissues with ZQ then I do lich... yet both are very easy.
