Reset Time ... The Discussion Continues

Hehe...bad topic for me since I am the guy who could equip a decent army with the stuff I have blown. The sad part is, I KNOW I have zilch luck on items (I get pretty good drops in streaks though, so it evens out)...you would think I would quit trying to make things, but no, I just keep throwing away adena. LOL

My latest misadventure with overzelling was making 20 BOE in a vain attempt to make a +9...yeah, right. haha....I used only bzels after +5 and didn't even get a single one to even go to +8. About two months before that, I made 50 bracers (again, hoping to better my +8 and make a +9)....hehe...that was a waste of time that could have been spent hunting. The only thing in the past year or two I have been lucky on was a pair of pgs (yep, something I don't actually use) I was trying to sell in gtv. They were +5, I priced them cheap and they still sat there all day, so when I went to log off my shop character, I hit them with a bzel...instant +7 pgs, which sold very quickly the next day.

Early on in my Lineage life I was told by a "veteran" not to try and make uber items, but to buy them instead. But, it soon became apparent that there are only 2 legitimate ways to make money in this game: hunt for it or craft for it. So, how does a lower level elf hunt for money to purchase uber weapons and armor? He doesn't. At least not effectively or in the short term (can you say years?)
My first attempt came with iboots. I had pair of +5 to wear when a friend quit and gave me another pair. Something must have been in the cards because not an hour later I got my first bzel as a drop from a taurv that took me several minutes to bring down with my dogs. So, I thought, "What the hell!" The minute those boots glowed and didn't evaporate, I was hooked. The iboots went +7!
Now this didn't make sense to me as I had read all the threads concerning use of blessed enchant scrolls. So I thought my luck was a glitch. Off I went to buy a bzel for the lofty price of 375K (leaving me 10k and change to my name). Hit the second pair with the second bzel and damn! Another pair of +7 iboots!
So, standing there at Mother with 2 pair of +7 iboots I had a pledgemate global for a price check. As the numbers flew by in the screen I got a whisper from an uber knight who said if I made the +7 into a +8, he would pay me 60 million for them.
I had 2 nzels in storage, saving them for when I could make another BOE. Out of storage they came and damn! It worked! I now was holding 60 mil adena in my hands!
Then I did the dumbest thing. I zelled the 2nd pair as well. The minute I double clicked I knew I had made a mistake. I closed my eyes and told the Lineage gods I would never ever make another stupid mistake like this ever ever ever again.
I opened my eyes and was stunned. I saw 2 pair of iboots on my screen. Both were +8!
30 seconds later I was a multimillionaire and looking to buy up all the bzels I could find.

My two favorite items I made in game have been the first crafted Kedo on Ken server and recently a +9 Diamond Sword. My luck has always seemed to be with weapons vs armors.

3 +7 B-Tsu -> 2 +8 B-Tsu -> 1 +9 B-Tsu, which I still use over a year later.

spending 13m or so making a eva shield(back when that was some uber cash... took me forever to get the scales by checking and buying) when 4 months later about 500+ of them dropped all over the server and the price dropped down to 500k-1m. The story of my life.

But I'll again post this. Nice that a enemy of mine donated my pledge over 3b in items, I recieved a free dksword :)

So how's everyone like the new unoffical "dual pink" and ebind? Gonna make fights a lot more interesting and less controlling :). I love it

going way back to the summer of 02, i was a green behind the ears elf with not much in the way of lin knowledge. i saved and saved to get pair of iboots and a tshirt to improve my armor. as soon as i had the cash, i would buy a nzel to improve my ac. being an elf, i assumed everything was safe to +6. so with a pair of nzels i took my +4 ib and +4 ts to +5 thinking nothing of it. when i casually mentioned to a pal what i had done, he informed me that i was very lucky that neither had blown since they were only safe to +4. i guess ignorance is truly bliss. ^^ since that day, i have had no luck in making any items.

on the flipside, one of my saddest days was little over 3 years ago in the aden sewers. many will remember i had 3 dobs that went everywhere with me. i tried to keep them all even exp wise, and when one would die, i would take it out alone to make up the lost exp. i managed to level all 3 to 47, before evolving, and had gotten them back to lv 28 at that point. anyway when i would take one out alone, i would often tame something to compliment my lone pet. i will never forget that day, since i had just gotten a new job, and was feeling pretty good. my tames were full, and i decided to release them, so i could see if they held any goodies. in my excitement, i mis-clicked, and ended up releasing my dob, instead of the tame. i spent more than an hour in the sewer, desperately crying for help from a monitor. many players came to comfort me, but in the end it was 1 mis-click that cost me a long time friend. to this day i miss that pup, and since that time i have used my pups less and less.

Best story I guess is making a +7 silver cloak go +8 then +9 with nzels in a row, got greedy and blew it though...

I have luck on and off, but I have blown all my +8 armors on my elf many times now and never have gotton one to +9. So I just buy it all again wait like 1/2 a year and try again.
I did make a +6 bone shield and +5 bone armor back when thats what I used for ac.
My realy luck is in getting drops.

A year or 2 back, when I was a bit more newb (so basically the same as I am now! :P) When I was blowing everything on my elf, Boramere and took a 3 month break. The last item I had was a +6 bracer. nzel .. +7. hmm, why not.... nzel .... +8. I had no idea what it was worth, I tried globalling it and just didnt care. I put another nzel on it .... poofies!

Hmm. Another one could be the fact that I hunted IT 5F for 2 weeks with a couple friends. With our mass amounts of iron we saved, we managed to make about 20-30 pairs of ibs. I took 12 pairs, and he took 12. So the nzeling to +5 began... turned out I made 5 pairs +5. Then I bought 5bzels, 1st 2nd and 3rd blew, 4th went +6, 5th went +7

Most thrilling item experience = Boss island event, Best drop i get is an Ntsu.... Someone says
"Make +8 ill pay this" Never had anything gone past +7 for me so i thought WHO CARES this event sucks anyway. It goes +8 and i use the cash to buy ith, which i had been hunting religiously for a month and a half.

Funny thing is after this happened i said screw event and went back to it 8 and first LA i kill drops ith >.<

Recently I had a lag death and for the first time in my little elven life, I went to storage, took out +6 GoP and all the nzel I had... never use the GoP, thought I'd make another empty storage spot! They went 8, hmmm... they went 9! Sold and finally got Lillie AS! So, thinking I was on a roll and had to carry Sword of Flames anyway and everyone said it's only good if it's +8 or +9.... took out 2 dai, hit the +6 and it went to 7 so.... weeeee now I have a +8 Sword of Flames. (And it is noticably better ;))
As I try to continue my roll.... +7 dama = poof..... +6 cutlass = poof .... I stopped haha!

*PS To LB*~ I remember that day clearly as it was Adore (AKA ZDarlingZ) and Lillie (what was I thinking?) that went to try and help. I remember being in the sewers for hours and hours. We tried sooo hard to retame it. I could not have been more sad for the programing back then that a button could release a high pet but could not restore your precious high pet.
