Which character should I level?

Question

What would you do?

I have a level 48 CON Elf... a level 49 CON knight and a level 32 CON DE. I also have a level 30 WIS/CON Mage.

I level pretty slowly (maybe 1% a day on my knight if I can hunt long enough in TOI 20's).

If you were in my shoes, which character would you focus on levelling and where/how would you level them? Ideally I'd like to get my knight to DK but I also like the fun of the other classes as well. Help! Can't decide.

Answer

What the heck? This ain't no "Dear Roo" column...

But since you asked:

You said yourself that you'd like your Knight to be a DK...

The trick to 50 and beyond is to dedicate yourself to a character and just go for it.

If you're getting bored of ToI, try other areas regardless of experience such as resistance village - see if you can get yourself Holywalk or a Black Wizzard Amulet. Try the outer areas of the Temple Of Shadows, good old Dragon Valley caves and the Pirate Island dungeons.

When you get bored of your knight, don't take the gut reaction to switch characters, simply change your hunting place and style. Bored with a sword? Grab a bow and a dog for a while. Try as many variations as you can and just keep pushing yourself... you'll get there!

My friend who got me started

My friend who got me started in Lineage, CajunQueen on dep, told me the same thing. It is difficult when you get bored with repetetivness to not change characters but you need to be persistent with one character or you will be like me...a lvl 49 elf, a lvl 49 mage. a lvl 47 knight, and a lvl 56 de. I sure wish, looking back, that I had dedicated all the time to my de...WOW would i be high lvl now :)

Only four? hehe I primarily

Only four? hehe

I primarily concentrate on my main character, a level 65 con elf, but I also have other elves at levels 55 (con), 49 (dex) and 48 (int). Add to that a level 50 knight, 48 mage, 40 Royal and 38 DE. I've even deleted two level 49 chars because I wanted to try something new...hence the royal and the DE. Of course, I've been playing since Mac beta days, so there has been plenty of time to level them all. Other than learning more about the game by playing a variety of characters, it also gives you a better understanding of other people's pet peeves. I try not to shoot mops out from under a knight who is moving towards it because I've played a knight and know how annoying that can be, and now that I have blizzard on my mage, I certainly am more tolerant of mages who try to gather every frackin' mop in a given hunting area before they begin blasting them.

Anyway, peeps are right...concentrate on one character if leveling past 50 is your goal, but if the main reason you play is to have fun, well, by all means switch around. I played Grimmer (my mage) today, just to give me a break from the level up grind playing Val, and let me tell you, I am lousy at playing a mage (LOL) but I still have a blast!
