One day filled with action for a week. Yesterday, shortly before I logged, Chork was so nice and gave me a sc:nb, after I told him that I try to get one down at DVC 6f (Thanks again :) A few mintues later my little elfy became a true water elf - for the first time! Is it really the one and only way for a lvl 50+ elf?
Since my elf has 15 INT base (17 INT with items) natures blessing works very well but does it really help me? What's the best line for an elf like mine to hunt solo? Let's jump on FI and test it...
Forgotten Island (solo, with +7 Sayha's Bow)
---------------------------------------------------
Wind: I used to hunt as wind elf there, which worked fine but I needed to drink between 5-12 ojs when a hasted Drake jumped onto me. Good thing, I only used wafers when a Drake showed up or mops swarmed me.
Fire: Almost all monsters are weak to fire on FI, so it is no wonder that the fire summon is a great help there. I was able to end a hasted Drake without pots and sometimes it only took 50% of my MP! If you want to hunt FI alot, go fire, best with bow to take out those silly Dark Elves without moving around.
Water: This gave me a hard time, healing is superior but thats it. With 17 INT my gheal gives me steady 100+HP back, for 16MP, nb costs 30 and easily doubles that but the water summon isn't a real help there for me and I was forced to use OJs again to end a drake.
Its incredible how strong the fire summon is. No wonder that all bots are fire, even on 21f+ and even with a bow o.o If you have at least 15 INT you can use gheal to solo all those places without pots (well always have a few emergency pots with you :P) Water shines during pledge hunts, NB makes healing easy because you don't need to target - too bad that it doesn't work for pets or summons. Wind is nice but the additional damage is not compareable to the benefit of having an uber summon like you have with fire. Wind Walk is the thing I REALLY miss and the only reason why I might switch back...
Well, all that is for my elf, with low dex, med con and int and may not be the same for your elf.
Enough elf stuff. Milla was in resistance and like all royals she eats tons of pots without a healer, so I jumped down and hunted together with her. We were able to gather stuff to make 2 resistance scrolls, got a few minerals of darkness and PK gloves there - nice trip :) I usually use 10 frags to tele from TOS to SOE and escape to resistance from there. Today I saw this:
Two priests and the Varlok fought the hell out of them o.o

I watched the scene for awhile before I began to shot a priest - but nothing happend. It didn't do much damage to me (auto regen with NT was enough to keep my HP bar full) but I wasn't able to end it. So I summoned up - bad idea o.o My summon showed up directly under the Varlok's sword, got hit and began to fight against the Varlok, which did something that ended my summon instantly and left 1HP on my hp bar before I could escape. Evil thing o.O
Sometimes before I log I use my MP to random tele around in Aden. Funny things may happen if you do that and today I found this:

This puppy is so cute! I asked Justifier (full CHA prince) for help but in the end the try to tame it failed.

Even justi dont have eough
Even justi dont have eough cha, he need some items for that. Wasnt the first try on a Jindo.
A Summonmage with equip might succeed. As for the priest, try a Hunterbow (+8 will work) with the smal Windbuff (the big one raise dammage at cost of to hit capability).
Without boxed healer I used way more pots on FI then you do, so 12 Pots for a drake sound like a deal to me.:)
Justi had CHA items on and
Justi had CHA items on and had way over 20 CHA - not enough. Someone said it is chance by luck.
Using pots means limited hunting time, I prefer to aviod that :P
hmm your looking more at a
hmm your looking more at a cha mage to tame them with full int items (- the ammy_ so you have like 24 or so choa to do it.

Uhm...all of FI drops pots
Uhm...all of FI drops pots in no short supply. And yes, on FI, Fire line is king. Can't really claim that about anywhere else that I've tried though. I enjoyed all the level time I spent on FI.
As for the summon...that I could debate. My time with it has shown it to be slow, and generally ineffectual (for me). It is almost entirely melee (bad) and is always dragging *** behind me. It's also low hp and gets killed exceedingly easy....I actually stopped using it on FI a long time ago unless I feel like goofing off.
Wait...What??
I have been every element
I have been every element except Wind which for some reason never interested me. And I agree, small wind or party wind rocks.
I was an Earth elf for the longest time. That is a summon I really miss. When all the other summons died, mine kept going. FI drakes always turned on him but they lost ^.^
Then, at like 53 I think, I went Water. I did enjoy it but you have to target for Water Life and if the scene calls for water life, you don't have time to find your target. You just keep hitting NB. I did anyway.... WL was great when I solo'ed.
Now the Fire line was something my sweet knight suggested to me and I fought for a long time. I have a bowgun, a sayha & a +8 Yumi.... why go Fire I asked.... Simple, change of element for fun and see if I like it.
So, Moli gave me all the Fire SC and all the Water SC just in case and let me use his A-Sword.... I was hooked!
I can g-heal myself just fine but do always have pots on me.
As for SoE mops fighting each other, I have heard they do that. I bet it was funny as heck to see.
Keep up the fun Coro!

I tried that but it didn't
I tried that but it didn't worked. Wasn't able to shackel the Drakes. Haven't tried it since I reached lvl 52 too. Currently I'm getting more comfortable with water, not on FI but almost anywhere else :)
