Hi all,
in SOE there is one monster that seems to be a unbreakable nut for me - the Grave Guardian! If you take a look at the monsters stats it doesn't look that hard: 1000 HP, large, immune to slow & poison, weak to water and wind. But whatever I tried, there seems to be no way to kill one of those for me.
The reason is that the guardian regenerates 250HP every 5 seconds - regen like a boss! Let's take a look on how much damage I can cause: 4 (Bow damage bonus) + 7 (enchantment) + 5 (elf level bonus) + 12 (arrow damage) + 5 (DEX damage bonus) + 5 (storm shot) = max 38 dmg per shot - not bad :)
I DE morph, hasted and on wafer, I shot ~9 arrows within 5 seconds, assuming a 100% hit rate that's: 342 damage every 5 seconds. Hmmm - and my greater summon should do some additional damage but this damn mop will not die!
So what's wrong? Maybe LinDB is wrong and the guardian is tough skinned? (if so then I'm only able to do 171 dmg every 5 seconds)
Any ideas or suggestions?

I know of no way to stop a monster from regening. I would be interested to find out if 200meat would work... Would also be interesting to see someone carrying 200meat around SOE to give it a try hehe.
I think your best bet is to overwhelm it with magic. He is nearly as weak to wind as he is water (140% water damage, 135% wind damage.) Try EF (since your wind) and call lightning in hopes that each call lightning will do at least 100 damage. Itll also increase the damage on your summons wind shur's. Should be able to get off 5+ in 5 seconds (would need to get off at least 15 though at that rate.) Itll take up all your mana for each one though, provided you have full mana going into the battle and no other monsters. Though as I type this it seems like even that would be a long shot for success.
If that doesnt take him down in under 10seconds (alloting for only one regen tic), I dont think you can without another damage dealer.

Why would you want to kill
Why would you want to kill grave guardians? I just usually blind them and just walk past them.
Ok, the 200 meat tactic has
Ok, the 200 meat tactic has no chance to work on the guardian - this damn thing has 55 STR - LOL! However, I'll overload my pets and see if they still regen, my guess is that pets and monsters use the same regen procedure.
I'll try to blind them, maybe erase magic + blind will work with my 18 INT.

it will surely be easier than to kill them. But try to drag them out of your hunting area before blinding them, or you will have to do it over and over again..

they are hardskinned, but that only effects arrow dmg... your dmg formula is flawed from the start, since arrow damage is rolled, so...

should be 4+7+5+6.5(1-12)+5+5 = 32.5 avg, arrow dmg is rolled on 1-max so if your arrows are 12 to large, they roll 1-12.
your hardskin formula is off to, hardskin only reduced the arrow roll, the rest of the damage is still full, so on hardskin your roll would be 4+7+5+3.5(1-6)+5+5 which still = 29.5 avg
that said, you can proably kill them, it will just take forever... it takes everyone forever to kill these sucker to be honest, although like with other mobs with high regen, it goes down alot faster when theres 2 or more people on it, as 1 person efectivly kills the regen, while the other one is essentialy killing it, instead of just 1 person killing the regen + 5-10 dmg per second, taking 100-200 seconds to kill this mob with 1000 hp.

Hmmm, are you sure about the hardskin formular? What I've read about it, says that the whole damage is cut in half, not only the arrows damage.

One of the episode publishes says Only arrow damage is cut in half.... Could of been a bad translation, Preloa only, or it's still just arrows damage only.
And besides, the plaync support site barely offers any valuable information. They leave too many things out instead of explaining the whole process. Besides ur site, the episode publish... There will be no way of knowing which it is until NC gives you a direct answer.
The mops that regen is very high, I'm sure it seems like it is 1/2 damage but others that's regen is kinda low and damage weaps... Elves kill them sometimes as fast as melees.... Elves wafer kinda sucks so Triple arrow is the bomb :P.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure... acording to that page on plaync wind buff doesn't add arrow damage, nor does level bonus... pretty much if you read anything from an official NC source, you can pretty much bank on there being inacuracys and missing information.

Oh, on a side note, anyone know for sure if royal lv50 buff increases bow dmg, or is melee only? only time i've really had it and was using a bow was in middle group on TOS 2f, and there, stuff dies so fast, and you have so many buffs its hard to notice if the royal buff actually adds dmg.

I've done plenty of tests and the level 50 royal buff is melee only for sure.
That grave Gardians is all
That grave Gardians is all jacked up. I've tryed to kill many times and think I seen it fall once unles peopls help me. I've used +9 bg non stop TA, +9thors + summon and nada. This is the most annoying mop for me for sure, specially when I get the 1on1 spot and here comes Dumb Dee Dumb Grave Gardian that I just cant kill. So Yup drag away erase blind but he will find you again and the 1on1 cell will be dead when you get back. And now you have 20 preist after you fun fun! Also while your talking about soe I've noticed that when mops stack up if creats dead cells where they were standing. Any way to fix this?

I noticed you had bow dmg
I noticed you had bow dmg listed? Unless they changed it since i played, bows don't do any dmg. the 3/3 dmg you see listed for Yumi for instance is not factored into your dmg, the 3/3 is the bows melee dmg, so it would only count if you were whacking on a mop with your bow, not if u are using it to shoot arrows.

you get the +dmg on your bow, not the base dmg roll, which I think is what he was listing as 'bow dmg' (IE yumi you don't get the 3/3 but you do get the +3 dmg on your arrows)

I'm not sure how the 1/2 dmg thing works with bows, BUT I Can tell you IT SUCKS! Nice post Pyro, you can tell I was scared on 100f I was hiding behind you the hole time just look at the pic of Silver. ZZZZZ. At least his IMMy helped me keep ur hp up, I'm going to miss NB if I go wind. Its going to be harder to kick then CRACK!

I had gotten an Iris before but I think KV was with you too. I Did Hit early on Grim and got him to walk by you for a second so I stopped. He was hitting me with his area attack for awhile so I backed up. But I'm very cursious to see if I could pull drops off him with just us 2 hitting. But if I have to heal I usually hang back so I can do non stop b2s NB and watch only your HP. I would run out of mana fast If I was trying to heal us both while taking alot of dmg(since our mage was like 14k chao with bogus heals lol). Thats it we have to get some more Grims so I can see if I'm only denting him or breaking skin.
