How do I get these gloves (or any of the new king items)? I've looked on lindb and they do not record what mop drops them.
Rather than buying one, I'd hope to hunt for one on my lvl 48 elf. Is this possible or should I just save up and buy one.

They drop on the second floor of Lastavard Fortress. They drop from most monsters there and the boxes that the monsters drop also give them.
Unfortunately as a level 48 elf you will not be able to get to 2nd floor solo, and wont last long there solo if you get there.
GTV Market always has many New King items in it for sale.

You're better off getting
You're better off getting one of the elemental spirit gloves (like dark spirit gloves), little less ac, but +1 str helps ur carry capacity a bit and gives same MP regen...
and yeah, new king all drops on lastavard 2f.
