Hello everyone, I am an old player thinking about returning to Lineage but I had a few questions before i did.
I am an old 45 Elf and 45 Mage from LoA but back in beta, I was a 43 elf on Ken Rauhel.
I was just curious as to how the game has changed in regards to how bots challenge hunting spots and what not. I really enjoyed my elf, letting my dogs kill tauros in FV while I ran halfway across the screen. But even when I played on LoA, it was impossible to get mats for bows/wafers because of the surplus of Bots. I was thinking about coming back as either a Knight or Dark Elf and wanted some feedback on which one is better and possible specs for each.
I've read the lineageDB guides but still wanted some more personal information. When I get home from work, I will jump in teamspeak for sure. Any help you guys can provide is amazing, and thank you. Feel free to email me at tonez9@hotmail.com as well.

if you want to play melee, your gonna want to play a DE... Knight doesn't get good until lv65+ which will take you a couple years at least... DE get good about lv55. TBH tho your better off with one of the 2 power-chars, elves or mages.

Nice little update. PyroAmos has been helping me alot ingame. I've gone from 0 - 15 today on a CON Elf. Stats 18 CON, 13 DEX.
I've also managed to make a crossbow (close to) and my iron boots. I missed this game!!

I've seen 3 bots, they can be very brutal. But I wrote their names down and when I see them in TOI in a couple of weeks, ohhhh man :)

Thats a sad but valid point
Thats a sad but valid point Pyro. I 've always enjoyed helping new players, giving them a hand up on getting started with equipment, pots, etc., because I remember having to stand around and regen hp when I began because I didn't have adena for pots. Your comment made me realize just how long its been since I met a truly new player, and that's a sorry state of affairs.
well one thing you guys need
well one thing you guys need to post on the NCsoft forums is allowing new users to make accounts. If I hadn't have made an account here, I would have recieved ZERO support or advice in playing. The support side of things has this "not-our-problem" attitude which severely needs to be addressed before this game should even think about adding new content.

Well Lyzira was in game yesterday and claimed they are working on getting new boards. That is a start atleast, and I had never seen a GM in game before that it gives me some hope.
On a more important note however; I want some advice on where to level.
Self-buffed, im at -31 AC with a +6 crossbow. I have a level 27 Killer Rabbit/14 Wolf/13 Wolf. I have room to upgrade about another -12 AC, but I need to save for B2S.
Should I stay at OWL with 0 pets? Go to FV with 1/2/3 pets or DV with 0/1/2/3 pets?
I heard I can do 31F with a healing mage, but lets pretend that is out of the question since I don't know anyone here.

I have friends everywhere on LOA... nearly anywhere you go, if players are there, I'll get a tell, telling me where... 4 years of making friends goes a long way.... luckily I still had elven mother tree bookmarked from when earthskin lasted an hour long, and I would tele there and ask for e-skin, before I went off hunting.

Seems like you already have a good idea of where to hunt. I would say just grind it out in owl till lvl 40. No money there, but easy lvling for elf. Should just join our bp so pyro and the rest of us can help you out easier with buffs and mass teles. Whisper Pyroamos and myself in game.

Thanks for all of your help Silverchair. Like I said in game, I will be staying in Regulators at this point in time, MrFish has given me an opportunity and I don't want to let him down :) He might actually grow gills if I were to do that.
You didn't have to do what you did last night, but I am grateful just the same. You and Pyro have been incredible so far and if my progress can be translated into any amount of success, it is due to the help of you both, my pledge and BADLUCK.
I've been thinking about making a linblog rather than to keep updating this thread on my progress, you guys have inspired me. I don't want it to be just a blog, I want to be able to provide new players (new elves anyway) a place to read and learn techniques and information you guys have showed me over the past 3 days.
We'll see how my work day is like and I may get started on it today. Untill then, Level 32 with -30 AC. A pledgemate sold me counter-magic for pretty cheap as well, a nice addition to any spellbook. Jonjon showed me around DV, gave me most of the marks to hunt there. I may give it a try tonight, I can now self DEX buff!!

Yeah, Silverchair helped me out a shitload. The community was HORRIBLE when I left this game. I was telling my pledge how when I used to play, I didnt have any friends; which is probably why I quit at level 45 each time. Now, in a matter of 3 days, I have a full blood pledge which drops everything to come help me (which is more then I ask of them) as well as 3 very good players that have given me the best start I could ask for.
I'm skipping the gym today (my legs are soo sore from work anyway) so I will have a SOLID 8-9 hour session to play. I aim to hit ATLEAST 35, but I think I may be able to do better than that.

P.S.S I need a little help in regards to jewelry. I have 2x MM rings, PyroAmos's KG ring and the Ivory Tower -1ac ring. Which would be the best to wear at this point in time? Also, what necklace should I be aiming to buy? I know my goal is a dex ammy, but that has to be a couple million and my next 900k goes to b2s.

I think elves rely on int ammy more then dex ammy these days, and they are dirt cheap. Once you get b2s you will be b2s + g-healing a lot more, and int will help you a lot. After b2s you should probably save up for a yumi and make it +7. I think thats the best weapon for cheap u can get.

NCsoft finally got back to me on my old account, I am now playing my Level 45 con elf named TispII. This worked out great because in the 4 years i've been gone, inflation has hit atleast 250% and all of my items from events are now worth something. Thanks again to everyone for their help, espiecally to Silver for letting me in chingoo and for Pyro for guiding me through Pirate Island on the new character.
I didn't want to leave Regulators, but apparently RealFamily was going to war because of legowizard. I am not prepared in anyway for war v.v
My next few days in game look pretty bland -- finish Drake's quest and get my Lizardman Hero Gloves. The drops on these items for this quest are horrible, not to mention I think I've killed over 2000 boars.
I think thats it for now, I'll be starting my blog up later tonight with some screenshots :)
