I'm a lvl 48 Int Elf, about -53 Ac, & currently Wind; and I was looking to hunt solo on FI. Basically I hate hunting in caves/dungeons and would rather hunt in an open area...anyway.
I know I have to move slowly to avoid a super spawn & can't handle drakes, but I was looking for any advice on where to hunt, hutning tips, or what elemental line would be better than wind.
FI isn't good for an elf
FI isn't good for an elf below lvl 50, you'll easily get swarmed and your summon can't take enough damage to keep a drake busy while you kill other mops. Better team up with another elf to hunt smoothly there.
Try TOI 42f which is made for wind elves :) DVC 6f is also easy for you if you have enough MR. TOI 21f-24f and 31f-34f are also great for an INT elf.
I've tried 42f once and
I've tried 42f once and didn't fair too well. But to be honest I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Is there a method to the madness on that floor (last time I was there I just ran up to Lesser-Dragons and VT them to death and then b2s to full mp...repeat).
(EDIT) Just realized after checking linDB that lesser-dragons aren't on 42f. I guess I was only 43-44f. I'll try 42f floor though

Hehe, on 42f are only Fire Ghosts and Horrific Irons Golems. Golems drop Power Gloves, B2S and Ghosts drop bzels :) IGs are weak to wind and they are slow :)
You should be able to hunt there without wafers, use wind walk instead.

I think strat he is refering to is ele falldown + lightning strike or wind shiruken....
on test I hunted there with jus bow and lv40 wind summon, run/turn/shoot/run/turn/shoot, although without drops being 5x, I doubt it would be worth it to farm with that slow of a kill speed on live.

I hunted FI solo with a pre 50 int elf on test, it's pretty risky though, if you run out of mp you probly gonna die but you should be able to do it, I got a few dragon scales doing this so was pretty pleased but died a few times so yeh if you hunt with someone else would be safer
41f an int elf can hunt forever provided you have 100mr, personally I used a mith dagger and just v-ted all the mops to death although some ppl prefer to use weapons and just v-t for support but for me constant v-t is the only way to make sure to keep ur hp up against the lds, a bow would be good vs the ghosts but I wouldn't want to use a bow morph as DE morph kill so fast with v-t
Yeah, it has become apparent
Yeah, it has become apparent to me that while DK cast speed is generally adequate for FI, I use aggressive cast spells up on toi 4x so much more often that 55+ mage morphs ends up being more in-tune with combat there (without sacrificing too much melee capability).

oh, BTW, you should be able to do drakes on FI pretty easily, just slow them... on con elf, i could erase/slow them about 1/2 sucess rate, as int elf, you could proably slow it without erase, or just erase-slow at near 100% sucess rate... they are easy once slowed.

So basically you....Run up
So basically you....Run up to Lesser-Dragon, VT-VT-VT-VT-VT-VT, dragon dies, b2s to get all MP back and repeat.
I've tried that but I end up doing a lot of b2s dancing to get my mp back. Should I be casting a spell prior to the V-T attack? Like slow, disease, or falldown (keep in mind I'm currently wind so would it be better to switch to water for this?)
