After a 4 year hiatus I've been back in Aden for just over a month. I've played on Ken since it opened in 2001ish. I have 3 level 48 characters (knight, mage, and elf). I've started leveling a new mage to take advantage of the new LOA content. A lot has changed since I left, both good and bad. There is a lot of new content (from my perspective), and I really like the addition of the LOA rule set to my beloved Ken. I hated the soft AC nerf and I'm glad to see its gone. Most of the players I knew are gone, and my pledge exists but no one ever logs into it anymore.
I see lots of bot hate on the boards which seems to be a new addition. It doesn't seem to be unbearable on Ken with the low server population, but I probably don't hunt the prime areas at them moment either. I did go down to the lower levels of DVC this weekend and that was a major downer...
The game is still a lot of fun to me, but I'm pretty lost with the new hunting areas. Its hard to find information on locations, MOPs, etc. I did find a few really good (old) posts here on the new content, etc. I think it would be really cool to sticky those or add links to them somehow for the old players who find there way back into the fold. If someone wants to give me a tour that would be pretty sweet too ;) Also, if anyone has a place in a quality hunting pledge on Ken for a legit player, let me know. Its a bit lonely in Aden at the moment, but I'm glad to be back, and glad I didn't blow all my items in frustration last time around :) (Miette / Bitstream).

There are a number of
There are a number of helpful people in lineage, best option is to use global to make connections or go to giran cross and hang out. then chat with people. youll learn the pledges that way as well see some of the general discourse that goes on between pledges. another benefit is to watch which pledges talk more to whom and their pledges.
tours can be neat reminders of helpfulness and community, pick a place to get a tour then just ask people till you get a guide. then repeat as needed.
also remember that one persons perspective and knowledge of a specific hunting area can be highly different than anothers.

Just be slow to make
Just be slow to make associations with anyone that you meet in game. Lineage has a secondary (and rampant) problem of players "going" legit after botting their way to some end-goal (be it level, wealth, gear, etc) and they undermine the legitimate playerbase's ability to get them removed. We send the wrong message to NC (and to the cheaters) when we "tolerate" their presense for any reason.
You can't even count on "old-timers" being legit players as more than a few have been sold off to new users. Sad...
...but I can vouch for me! Honest!

more than a few? nearly all have been sold... hmm.... 4 grand or compete with bots, level service and apartment-companys in a rapidly deteriorating game... almost none of the old good players, espeachally the ones who liked to level have not been sold.
