I'm playing with the "pet evolution" feature at the moment. I have pets of all shapes and sizes, and thanks to a gambling binge, a pile of shining scales. If you could evolve one of the following pets, what would you choose and why: Doberman, Shepard, St. Bernard, Huskey, Fox, Cat, Collie, or Wolf?
Know Your Enemy
These strange, green creatures are in the shape of a regular hexahedron and spew sticky, killer goop at victims. They contain a lighter green or golden substance that seems to be the nucleus.

Personally I'd go with that cat. They can heal themselves via VT, and more importantly that look pretty darn sweet, which goes a long way. But I used to see a lot of people with wolves b/c of their speed

Being on the NPvP
Being on the NPvP server I have spent much time playing with pets. Until NCA fixes the "We cant restore your lost High Pet" issue mine are left in the kennel and take up space in my StorRoyal BPStor. That coupled with the Pet Chaos because some ass hit my pet...
Why would i invest more time into them just to have them evaporate away do to NC's "We Don't Care" policy?
Pets all have their advantages and disadvantages depending on the mops you choose to hunt. It is my experiance that no 1 pet type is better than the other pet types in all combat situations. The spell casting pets in the short term can deal more damage and pull agro but they tend to have fewwer hp, and need mp regain time before being most effective. The melee types tend to deal constant damage output for very long periods of time. It all depends on the play style you chose. Husky and Collie have more hp. Doby bite harder. Wolf is fast but has low hp. Bear slams the damage but walks so slow.

Could you elaborate on the
Could you elaborate on the "unable to restore high pet issue"? Is there a bug which makes high pets vanish? If so, is it rare or common? I would hate to invest lots of time and money into a pet that disappears one day.
There have been reported
There have been reported cases of people hunting with their high pets and due to being D/C, when you return your pet is gone. NC claims there is nothing they can do about this issue. I dont know exactly why this is... im guessing its due to the pet being a client side mop. But why does the pet collar disappear?
If You lose your pet in this manner... it is gone. You can waste your time and beg NC Lack-o-Support to restore your beloved pet. They say they cant return it. Maybe this issue will be addressed at some point in the future?

One of my pet peeves
One of my pet peeves involves the issue with pets' hit point bars. I got tired of my pet showing half or full hp, yet lying on the ground dead. Usually, if I use pets at all these days with any of my characters, its to use them as pack mules to carry drops. Really extends my hunts, especially if I have one of my little baby characters out killing DE for mithril and mithril arrows for Val. I sometimes don't come back in from a hunt until I've picked up 100k mith arrows, and I can only do that with pets.
As far as pets go, I have to agree the high cat is possibly best, and the high fox looks very cool, too. BTW...I tried to tame a jindo puppy in the desert about 2 months ago...with my charisma royal and wearing all char gear. Still failed. She was pretty low level though, so I have been leveling her a bit in case I ever get another chance. Great looking little puppy.

I have two high beagles and they are very cute take out any earth creatures like turtles relativly fast, they use stalak and are so annoying with their bark most users flee.... they are pretty good company and with armor are very cool. I also lost a high one 48 just disapeared poof not to be found anywhere.... on dream island very sad. B
I'm personally fond of
I'm personally fond of wolves (no, not high-wolves). They are closest pets available in game to Direwolves and while they aren't strong, they are decently versatile. However, since I spend so much of my time in a "No Pets allowed!" area, they've been terribly neglected.
