I am a 50th con earth elf . (-68 AC unbuffed +7 bowgun/+9 bkat)
I bought nb the other day and was going to change when episode 6 hits live, because i will no longer be able to Iskin people. I have been thinking about it and im wondering if switching over now would help me level.
Right now I only do the Outside ToS, rarely the 3 spots are taken so I have to find a alternate place to go. I have tried to like 31-34f but I just cant dig it, my inability to target swords while getting bum rushed by skeletons usually end my trips up there.
Is the elemental falldown/vampiric touch combo effective with 12 int (13 with ammy)?
I was thinking 24f as the alt hunting ground.

With out a doubt water would help you level longer. It would save you on pots and you can hunt spots normaly you would not be able to. So in the end water is good to go more spots aand basic leveling - cost of pots is good too.
Wind for fast leveling but cost lots in pots.
So I say go now get used to water.

your proably better off as wind for leveling, and all the wind crystals are cheap... water is best for partying, but it sounds like you only solo, and although NB is a better heal than gheal, if your soloing, gheal should be all you need, and the increase in kill speed and non-dependancy on wafers of wind are wonderful.
that said, i-skin will be self only, but, you will be able to party someone and bless of earth them, which is just 1 or 2 ac less than i-skin.
again, that said, earth is really the fight element cause of e-bind... for hunting your almost always better off with wind or water for the increased damage or better heals, the benifits of which far outweigh the ac from i-skin.

I think its personal
I think its personal preference. What ever you think works best for you and where you hunt. Wind is better for damage, kill speed, and lack of the need of wafers. Water is for group hunting, mostly, as well as extended stay hunts. Earth is preference, if you like having the ability to control overspawns with ebind, the extra ac, and the ability to regen over weight. I wouldnt do fire till at least 52 though.
As far as hunting on 31+... Leave those pesky swords for last, kill the skels first. They hit harder, they are easier to target, and they die faster. The swords dont do much damage.

I didnt even think of wind, but that would work the best for me at this time.
My online gaming time is very limited now so the ability of hunting in a area for a longer time isnt a bonus. The maximum amount of time I can get online is in 2 hour blocks.
I think i got a storm shot now, but i don't believe ive ever seen a wind walk in any of the shops on the ken server.

wind walk is a very common drop on 80f, you should be able to pick one up for 100~150k, thats what they go for on LOA at least.... there is 1 wind crystal that is fairly difficult to get, wind shackle, but you proably wouldn't use it much anyway, unless you were going to fight ppl as wind, which, your on ken, so thats not even really a possibility.

Being that it's Int based,
Being that it's Int based, Wind Shackle doesn't get much love from anyone. It's...just so hard to get any use out of it. Couple that with most wind elves being dex elves trying to get the most out of their bows and you can see how the spell was just silly.

its int based? I always figured it was lvl based, like e-bind and entangle.... rarly ever see anyone use it though... I figured it'd be pretty good for FI soloing at lv50 though on drakes, as I'm fairly sure you could proably get it off with out erase, which takes 5 or 6 trys with base int, but, I havn't played with it enough to tell a decent sucess rate.

Nah, back before I started
Nah, back before I started pumping up my int, I tried that very thing on FI. Erase and a few dozen SGEMs later, I realized I was just wasting my time. This was pre-LoA rules though. It may have been changed to level-based as a result of compaints about its original int-based success rate (which is to say no-success rate).
Needless to say, I was very much not impressed. It was an interesting idea but not well implemented.

I would absolutely try wind
I would absolutely try wind first, especially if you are sure you are going to drop earth.
The spells are cheap so you might as well try it out before (and if) you ultimately go water.
It's all a matter of opinion, but for me I found (with a level 50 dex elf) ...
Wind = best for power leveling
Earth = best for making money (love it on 41+)
Water = best for party and boss hunts
As a elf that has tried most
As a elf that has tried most lines while lvling I would say ditch earth forget fire and go straight to wind or water. For lvl 50 I would go wind for sure and hunt toi 24 or toi 34-35. I think you will have your best results on toi 35 specially as wind. Once you hit lvl 51-52 really consider water but stay wind as long as you can. Because once you switch to water and really learn how to use it affectivelly it straight pwns!! I lvled to 52 as wind line and went water and I love it, I can hunt many place solo that it takes groups to hunt (Lastabad basement, Soe, 81+ and many more). But my main reason for being water is I love to party hunt and all sorts of people will hunt with you if you water..
But go wind Eye of storm pounds, storm is good at higher lvl or PVE and wind walk makes me very jelous!!

Went wind last night and I really dig it, wind walk is a champ and storm shot reduced the amount of triples i need to do on a mop by 1-2.
Im killing and getting around faster and where im hunting at im using zero pots. So im really digging the change thank all.

I'm not completly
I'm not completly unexperianced with elf though ^^ I played one on test... it was fairly easy to pickup, having hunted with some of the best elves to ever grace this game, and seeing many of the things you can do with the tools provided.
Thats the main thing I hate about knight... you have no tools in your box, just swing, pot, CM scroll, ect its like dumbed-down version of lineage :|
