i've just started out and leveled a knight up to lv11. I'm from Europe, and the lag's nice and all, but things are working. Thought i might try Lineage, after playing Lineage 2 for some time, probably as much as 2 years oddly distributed.
So far i've spent most of my time in HV, hunting this and that and i've ported around to all the Wizard guys, receiving those pretty Ivory Tower items. It's easy going in the valley, but when i get out of it i always end up spamming pots to stay alive; nowhere near a sustainable use. In HV i'm regenerating HP in seconds, out of it, i get just one point every odd second. Thus, i cant really understand in what way 18 Con do benefit my knight - more hp, yes. more reg, no? :S
Another thing that really bothers me is the players... i see spam in some sort of trade chat, but noone ever answers when i try to whisper. I tried shouting with the food gauge filled up, and noone seems to care. I've had some people walk right past me, never caring. How do you make friends in a community like this? ^^;;
Last but not least: is there any up-to-date site about the game, drops, monsters and such? Linegedb seems way outdated, not mentioning the Ivory Tower stuff at all.

Its hard to start off in this game as many things have changed with it. I would suggest staying on TI till around level 15.
I play DEP Server.
Once you hit level 30 and start to gain ac things are much easyer to do.
1st lest find your server then find some friends to help you out ^^

A few things worth noting...
The spam you see in your chat window is called 'trade chat'. It is a place where players can run macros to sell their items when they may not be at their computer. You will be able to use it at level 40. For now, I would suggest turning it off. Its for high end gear mostly.Type /tradechat off
Your chat window just got a lot cleaner!
Now, the chat that is left in your chat screen after that will be Global Chat. Global chat is for general chit chat and occasional trading. You cant run macros in global chat so itll be alot cleaner (its the same color as trade chat so it may be confusing at first). You can begin to use it at level 40 to communicate to other players.
Now for finding other players to chat and hunt with...
Chances are the low level players you have seen so far are one or both of these things... Bots, or non-english speaking players.
I would try continuing to try and talk to people, it can be hard to find other newbies but you wont be a newb for very long and your horizons will be broadened.
18 Con knight? You made the right choice. Its the only way to go on knight. Its not for regen though, passive HP regen is almost pointless in this game. You choose con for the higher HP and it is worth it in the long run though it may not seem to be at first. I hope you put your other points into Str.
Keep hunting HV till you break level 12 and it kicks you out. Hopefully when you were teleporting around getting the Ivory Tower stuff you took the time to bookmark the various cities so that you can return to them easily at a later time.
Once you get kicked out, there are a couple of things you can try.
You could do north west TI and kill werewolves and orcs till level 15.
At level 15, poly into Orc Scout, get yourself a handful of brave potions and a +0hunters bow (can buy in Giran for 5k, or many players may give you one) and hit up Oren Waste Land (OWL) With some Silver Arrows and an Hbow you can do OWL very easily. Hit and run the monsters. Start off just killing the Wizards, then the generals, then the soldiers. Dont let them hit you though. You will level fast there and make plenty of money to start enchanting your gear.
As far as fan sites go, LineageDB is the only English one we have. There are a few from Korea or TW, but they can be hard to navigate if you can not read the language since they have very little english on them.

Right now i'm hunting for some fur, and later lumps of iron to make hard leather / a belt to complete my armor: so far i've got the IT items + 1 ruby ring; using the 1 handed sword + shield. I'm not able to get the HV Amulet, though. Every time i enter the dungeon and walk a few steps, i get ported to Silver Knights Town.

I started playing L2 when it's korean open beta started. Picked up some words, forgot 99% of it by now. What stuck is: most didn't like english speaking players. Might still be playing there if it wasn't for the communication problems; most were nice once we figured out a way to understand each other.
Anyway: yes, i wont be able to understand the korean sites :/
Lineage I is kind of odd in
Lineage I is kind of odd in that the early stages of the game, for a true noob, are made for group hunting. I can't imagine what it would be like to solo from 1-45 even. As you noted, the pot expenditure is simply too high.
The problem is there are not enough noobs to sustain that.
Luckily, Lineage I also unique in that there are plenty of people willing to help and plenty of ways they can help. Find some people you like, join the pledge and they are usually willing to help you out with some starter gear that will at least make the solo hunting a little more profitable for you.
If you just really want to make your own way, I would suggest making an elf to make you some money to bettere equip your knight.

I can set you up with some AC and a +6 Hunter bow (good to use bow for any class really at lower levels. ) Bad part it is a slower to level but you save a lot more adena that way. Yet it is necessary when starting off.
I play EST (East cost of USA) that should be about 5 hours difference from you. I am on around 5pm EST so about 10-11pm For you.

One more thing once your level 14 I belive you can no longer hunt Singing Island nor Hidden Valley.
You can hunt talking Island but Watch out for tribal mops. Hit one of their kind and all of them on screen will come after you.

I think the best way to
I think the best way to start out the game fresh is to make a Dex Elf and level it to 30th and then sell the 15 (helm of dex) and 30 (elven tshirt) quest items. Last i saw they sell for 500k and like 2.5 mil.
Level in HV till 12th move to the north east part of talking island till 15th then move to oren wasteland kill elmore wizards by keeping them at a corner of your screen (with silver arrows) you need to be in a poly also. Make sure you get a Hunters Bow.
You should get a good clip of raw adena and enchant scrolls from the elmores. I would use them to improve some of your elfs armor and weapon to make the next couple of times you level up a elf easier. I would rinse and repeat the elf thing till you got enough cash to outfit your knight, transfer whatever armor you can to your knight and sell off the other gear.

Yeah, enchant scrolls from OWL is pretty rare, but the plain adena is pretty good and if lucky you might end up getting Staff of Strenght or Great Sword as well as some rare enchant scroll. But beside adena and pots it's better not expect getting anything else from there as it's just quite rare. If you happen to get something more, you can keep it as nice bonus :)

Ya i recently went from
Ya i recently went from 15-30th in owl and only got 1 zel.
I assumed since we switched the loa ruleset that the drops would be similar to when i played loa, seems like owl got the zel and dai drops nerf'd.

He is a knight and doing well 33 I think he is now ^^ doing well for startting off! I cannot say I helped much as he plays more in the day when I am working due to the time diffrence!
Shortly he have many players online once the next publish come out!
I set him up with a +6 Hbow and arrows for OWL. Once he gets 35 or so was going to show him the ropes in FV once he buys a Bkat or what knights use o.o just need a knight to tell me!

Knights use a combination of
Knights use a combination of weapons. If you are going for all around with one weapon, your best bet is Tsu.
But its really best to have a weapon for each situation.
As a newb I would go...
Bkat
Bkat + Rap (so I can do DV also for Ogre Drops)
Bkat + Rap + Tsu
Bkat + Rap + Tsu + Dama + SLS
By then you will be 48+ and have a good weapon for anywhere you hunt.

When I used to play a
When I used to play a knight i had a +9 nkat its good and costs anywhere form 12-15 mil less than the blessed version.
I have a +9 bkat and its "extra" damage on all the critters in FV isnt that noticable. I think tauv and iffy are the only ones in FV that are effected by the blessed thing.
