There are always things to imporve, beside the bug-fixes :P Here's my wish list for changes in Linage:
- Improved elf summon at level 60 - The current summons are no help at higher levels, especially Wind and Water summons are too weak.
- Fiery coal shouldn't drop in Doom Quest - People camping Doom Quest area just for coals, without a royal and blocking the whole quest. Let it drop in FV again or make it a quest.
- Present Boxes - Would be nice to be able to put an item into a present box - can be heavy its just to give it away :)
- Adjusted bosses - I'm for damage distribution, no one should be able to solo bosses, the damage should be divided by the number of people in the party and only people who take damage anyway will take damage. Improved drops! Its lame to kill boss after boss and get nothing.
- Quest items & classes - Especially the Lastavard Seals and Magic Books should be tradeable, otherwise it is almost impossible for some classes to get any of those at all.
- Detailed area map - Come on, every RPG has it. Detailed map of the local area, on screen display, with walls and nearby friends on.
- No death on disconnect! No communication between server <-> client? No death! Can't be that hard.
- Area access - Some areas are only accessable during day-time (Lineage time) - thats lame! And more areas comming with EP6 that are only accessable at certain times or special (expensive) items. Lastavard is such a nice hunting area but the door keepers, room timers and stage bosses are just annoying. TOI charm should weight less! For none CON/STR chars the weight way to much! And they should function like the scrolls - the platform thing is just annoying x.x
- Junk items - EVERY item should be sell able to store, like SC:Elemental Falldown, SC:Triple Arrow, SB:Mass Slow, etc.
- Level 50 Quest Adjustment: Hard to find any mage for the quest! The quest is fun but its hard to find any mage or knight to do the quest x.x Only item thats really worth is the mage quest item.
- Elf Elemental Line adjustment - Elf is a bow class but why are Fire Elves the strongest of the elves? Fire Summon is the strongest, Fire Elves do most damage. Elf should be best with bow - remove the -1 hit on Storm Shot, make it worth being Wind again.

I see this being easily exploited by cheaters...
I am about to die???? Client mod to stop sending/recieving packets when near death... Each time a cheater is about to die, they can simply 'fake' a dc by interupting server communication and then they get a free no exp death.

I agree, 3 weight.
But I am not sure I like the function like scrolls thing, but its for selfish personal reasons.
Got Blog?
True, the 'No exp loss on
True, the 'No exp loss on DC' can be exploited but I think thats ok. Currently only legit players pay for DC-deads, the bots don't care about it and manually exploit it by pluging the network cable - well, if you fast enough, why not. Thats better than losing exp for something you can not control. Being teleported to house or next town is penalty enough on a DC.
lineage used to log you as
lineage used to log you as soon as you stopped sending packets, but people were alt-tab, right-click, close to get out of places you arn't sposed to get out of, so they intentionally added a delay when you go linkdead.

Technically it's not a
Technically it's not a problem to check if an application has been forced to quit or if there was a connection issue.
I'm sure bots will exploit it if they remove the delay but for a bot a death is nothing, they just let it run a few hours more. And bots are illegal anyway.
Dying due to a DC or lag makes people mad because there is nothing you can do about it - this should change.
yah. i've died like hundreds
yah. i've died like hundreds of times due to DC... it wasn't so bad back then even if people did exploit it with force quit years ago due to the fact that if you really did D/C.... you have a chance of living... But now that your char will remain in the game after a d/c sometimes over 3mins... theirs no way in hell you will survive unless NOTHING is around you...
As I've said before... one time at a siege 2 of my friends from Toronto d/c and one of them was in the middle of the siege zone... he survived after about 30secs of healing and getting beat on... the other char remained in the game for over a hour and a half till he was removed from the game... Whats wrong with that picture?
My solution is easy, and probably save a lot without letting hackers get the best of it. Change the minimum time being left in game to 5-10 seconds instead of the "15" it's supposed to be right now. But when the server realizes the connection is dead between that char in game in that 5-10sec spike... auto d/c the char or tele it home. I know a few games I played awhile back. If you d/c or tried to d/c... the game would take over your char and auto hunt or escape.. and if you were likely to survive.. you would. If not, you had a chance atleast
Be nice if the system worked
Be nice if the system worked the way it was ment to work --
Only thing now if I d/c and soon as I can log back in I type my user name and password 3 times to get user in game. On the 3rd time it force you out of the game.

As Sk8 and others have often
As Sk8 and others have often said, legitimate players should not have to deal with the consequences of cheating. If they are cheating, deal with them as such, don't beat everyone over the head because of it. Cheaters exploit something designed to cushion players from latency issues, legitimate players pay the price. I still say that was one hell of a bonehead move from NC. It's apparently just "easier" to shoot first and ask question later (if at all).
I've actually had my client D/C me (on it's own for no apparent reason), and had another Lineage client up, open and waiting for me to log in almost immediately. Used to be that I could log in and pick up exactly where I left off, resuming control of my character to avoid a d/c death. Now I can't log-in...I have to wait there at the log in knowing that I'm being killed or till the Server decides it's time to toss me off...which is usually not the way things go.
(My router has a love of doing a soft-reset at the worst possible time...something that takes all of 10 seconds, but completely stalls out an active Lineage client resulting in a d/c. Is that supposed to be my problem or NC's problem for bad programming?)
Over my entire Lineage time I've died around a couple dozen times. However, I can count on just one hand the number of them that were actually as a result of MY failure (ie something I did or didn't do directly resulted in my death). The rest were completely out of my control, be it lag, disconnects, or bugs.
Wait...What??
Dang man... I can do a
Dang man... I can do a couple dozen deaths a week when I am not careful lol...

Got Blog?
Oh I know that boss hunting
Oh I know that boss hunting is a "Not going to be leveling" activity in Lineage. I've never been an active boss hunter which is why I have a very low death count. If I were one, that number would shoot up quite rapidly. Then again, I also have never been a really active PvP person (I used to seige a lot more long long ago, just got tired of it).
The difference, however, is that both bossing and PvPing are an active choice, knowing that you are placing your character at risk. Lag and D/Cs are not something you have any active control over. When I make a poor choice hunting and die as a result of it, it's my own damn fault, even if that choice was to go somewhere that dying was incredibly easy (like...checking Grim :P).
Wait...What??

yes yes YES! I am sorry but
yes yes YES!
I am sorry but lag death is the easiest way to loose players. i was talking to a friend telling him about the game and he was all ready to try it out until he asked that question. When I said ya if your server kicks you ya die and loose exp he said...man that sucks no thanks I will stick with a game I have a chance of winning. Got me thinking....
No wonder my husband went to guild wars. lol

I do not mind the loss of exp on death but I just mind the NC support we get from ISP to Custorm support for NCSoft games.
That is what is sendding me away. I will play EP 6 but after I do all I can in that (what 1-2 months tops) I will say my good bys and move on to a new game where when I play maybe i be happy about it and not look at it like work... damn got to level now ~_~ feels like I should be getting paid to play lineage 1 for NC.
