I got on for a sec to send a letter while watching the Olympics tonight to hear a debate going off on global about a monitor who was warning people for buying or selling on global. The person had said one line.."buying this....whisp me" when he said right after "hey I just got warned" we all thought that was kinda harsh seeing as how everyone has been doing it for years now and trade chat is usually bots, bots, bots. So I said on global something about how that was bull and not right. Next thing I know I am tele to a "GM ROOM" without warning or the monitor talking to me first. what is even better is what he was warning me for. I HADN'T EVEN DONE.

Teleporting you to the GMroom could be debated that was it really necessary, but I agree with NCA that trading should be kept in trade chat where it belongs. For Ken it might not be so annoying, but the rare time I actually have global on in LoA to try and follow some (again rare) interesting discussion, it's hugely annoying when there's people constantly spamming with colored trading stuff in the global.
For me it just sounds that people in Ken, as well in other servers, have been used to bad habbits when the rule has not been enforced that well in the past and are now feeling a bit frustrated when they cannot keep trading in a channel where it does not belong to. I'm sure that when people gets used to that trade chat is the place to put buy/sell messages in you notice it's a more enjoyable way for everyone: people who want to buy or sell stuff can check from one place (the tradechat) for the items that are macroed being under sell/buy and those messages no longer spams in-between the conversations going on in global. After all, now when people cannot use global anymore to buy and sell stuff everyone actually uses the trade chat when needed; no more only bots in that channel. Everyone wins, right?
But I am just kind of person who likes when things are more in order instead of chaos so maybe my above view is not valid for everyone, hehe. Still, I see the GMRonald only doing his job as NCA clearly is finally trying to clean the house in more than one frontier. I see this only as a good thing because it can finally end up slowly raising the community morale from the mud it has spiraled into during all these years.
And just to clarify, I did not mean this against CJ in any way because I can agree that it wasn't probably necessary to call her to the GMRoom, at least in the light what has been told here. But then again, all of us are just humans and sometimes everyone goes overboard and makes mistakes, as also our reactions as a community often shows.

As you have discovered, questioning the actions of NC staff is not tolerated or allowed. Just be happy you didn't catch this staffer on a bad day. Long long ago I had one throw a hissy fit and give me a 72 hour suspension. To this day, I can't get them to revoke that crap either.
For the record, the Monitor claimed that I used poorly phrased and wholely pathetic language that was supposed to be insulting or something (all I know was that when I received the chat-log report about it I was like "who typed that crap??"). Anyone who's ever spent any time around me knows that I'm far more...loquacious than that. Here's the kicker though...I never actually said it, not a single word. Good luck getting anyone at NC to see it though. Evidently they believe that "Our monitor's are infallible" which is a complete and utter joke.

Thank you for your report. It appears that, due to a miscommunication about certain procedures, you were mistakenly teleported to the GM consultation area. We are currently working to clarify our policies with the in-game support staff in order to help ensure that this does not occur again.
Please note that the Trade channel is specifically in place for trade chat. The Global channel is used to converse with the entire server. While we do not have specific filters in place to discourage trade chat in the Global channel, we definitely do not encourage it. The Trade channel can be turned off through the in-game settings. The Global channel cannot be turned off. If a player doesn't want to see trade chat, they shouldn't have to.
Again, thank you for your report. We'll be sure to speak with the individual in question. If you have any more questions, please let us know and we will be more than happy to assist you.

It is clearly indicative of everything we have been complianing about for years when it comes to the support staff.... Even the highest person at support doesnt know you can turn off global chat and is framing their whole in game global chat policies around that incorrect piece of data...

So basicly they abused there Police Powers to save LemonCobras face and the face of "NC Staff" by removing a perfectly legit post cause they 'didn't like it' ..
That's a bunch of (explitive) .. I just lost a lotta respect for 'Our Staff' and this does nothing more that prove what we have all been saying all along .. THey doi what they want, when they want , how they want .. time to decide .. accept Lineage for what it is and just play as best as can be .. or cancle all accounts and go play WoW or something eh ..

While I fully understand why they censor thier boards (can't have anything neg about the staff or game). But to ignore a major blunder by a person in charge, who makes policy, is insane. The part that is comical is that if CitrusSnake really didnt know you could turn off global chat, tells us he has never accualy played the game, yet he decides if his personal are doing their jobs correctly. But what does their job entail?? Support for a game he has never played? That he only knows what he is told?

One more note, if you have to deal with support, don't use any words longer than 7 or 8 letters, be very very very clear about what you are saying, and make sure you say it 2-3 times in diferant ways, and don't use any lineage terminology, and if you refer to any in-game features, make sure you explain exactly how those features work 2-3 times. Saying
Monitor chat-banned me for no reason. I took a screenshot and I have expanded chatbox so you can see the repeats of my /macro and see that I had not said anything inapropriate, and in fact nothing had been said in global for some time.
doesn't work, because they don't know what /macro is, and you havn't explained how /macro repeats a line in tradechat at a timed interval, and you havn't reworded and repeated the paragraph 2-3 times so they can grasp some of what you are saying. Not to mention some of those words are a little to complicated for NC support.

which after 4 or 5 back and forths on support in which I explained exactly how wrong he was, on several levels of his post, eventually led to the 'we are looking at our monitor's procedures' response I refer to in earlier post.
