The expectations for EP6/EPU were high and so many new areas, items, quests and changes came over us that it will take some time to explore that all. Let's take a look on what we got so far...
It was not only all the new content I was waiting, I expected to get a all cool client update for the Mac as well - but something like that is not on the horizon. Still no environmental sounds, many areas still have no music at all, still no middel-button support, the same old gfx-bugs and on top of that movement/swing/cast speed is still not on par with the PC version. To all that add all known PC bugs and a few more Mac bugs (like no fishing for Mac users right now)! I really hope and I mean REALLY that the current Mac-Client for test-server is just a quick and dirty hack and that we'll get an updated version by time.
The available content on Test-Server is bug free enough to allow players to get a first impression of EP6/EPU. Personally I welcome the removal of the LOA-Ruleset in most aspects. Sure, it's more challenging now and the monsters drops have been lowered but the chances to get a rare item are the same and fighting bosses is not a solo thing anymore. While royals, knights and dark elves may benefit from reduced potion weight, the removal of the LOA-Ruleset hurt mages and INT elves most due to the reduced effectiveness of magic. On the other hand - magic from monsters doesn't hurt that much as well. While mages with a Cougar summon can still solo many bosses, those with Dire Wolves/Bears can be happy if they can end Dark Elder without help (something I can't do anymore). At least knights are real tanks again!
Almost all bosses require a party of more than 3-4 people now. I like that - if the drops reflect that! Some areas are easier to hunt now because many mops aren't agressive anymore, while others give the player a new challenge!
Well, this is on Test-Server and may change before it will go live. In my opinion it's a good thing when our server-rules will get closer to the korean-rule set - with some modifications no one want miss, like the reduced death-penalty and a few other things. It's time to get rid of some old LOA quests/items because most of them are part of the original set now.
No reason to worry yet. There are still many issues with this update that it will not go live that soon! Big issues like broken NPCs that are required for quests or to access new areas and many many minor issues like missing texts, wrong translations and graphic issues - that hopefully will get fixed soon :)
Right now I'm afraid to play on Ken because it will be so much easier there and I already got a feeling to play my elf without the LOA-Ruleset. I remember that I haven't changed to LOA some years ago because I wanted this challange and I hope to get it back - well, almost - with some modifications ;P

Coro, thanks for
